It might be too obvious and I can not spot it but is there a way to manually start the torch and cut off a piece of sheet ? Except pulse torch button I dont see anything else, issuing M3 S1 or M3 $0 S1 in MDI does nothing.

I have a Gcode script that does this but I sometimes need to edit it to change the length to cut. I use Gmocappy with Plasmac and I've been meaning to create a Gmocappy macro that allows to enter the distance to cut.

Just checked it, it does not do anything with F9 in Axis !
Damn, that is a must have feature as i know all my clients use that to cut off left over plates.
The thc_toma does that homed or unhomed, press F9 and it will probe, fire the torch, wait for ARCOK signal, move with arrow keys !

I think it would be easy in Plasmac to program one of its buttons when we perfect the void crossing algorithm. Then you would not need to worry about turning off the torch at the end of the cut.

Well I'm no Gcode wizard so I might have this a bit wrong but assuming a metric machine and a 1200mm wide sheet, you could try configuring a Plasmac button in your ini file something like this:
(substituting the _n_ for the button number you want to use)
Just select the material, position the torch on the edge of the sheet wherever you want to sever and press the button. You may need to move the F command before the M3
BUTTON_n_NAME = Sever
BUTTON_n_CODE = G91 M3 G1 X1200 F#<_hal[plasmac.cut-feed-rate]> M5
(substituting the _n_ for the button number you want to use)
Just select the material, position the torch on the edge of the sheet wherever you want to sever and press the button. You may need to move the F command before the M3

I didn't realise that a feature like this was required, I will look into it.Just checked it, it does not do anything with F9 in Axis !

Grotius made the mod for gmoccapy, last i tested it still had some issues to solve but i do not think he finished it, at least i never got to test the working version.
I did it for Axis only as that is still the only GUI i use.
