i found that the Chinese BLC-AMP which is device convert the capacitance to pwm which is smilar thcad is the best as hardware.
I assume that only works with metal workpieces?

taloot.
Thanks for the great read of how you went about your Fibre Laser.
I have never used LinuxCNC, but you maybe able to to use this product.
I see you use the BCL-AMP, try the LFS-AP01 capacitive height controller.
This is used on the C02 small laser machines.
Have had it working with 2 THC's.
Unlike the BCL-AMP, it is adjustable from 0 to 10 volts for the head to material sensing.
I had been working on a similar project when I came across the posts on Linux CNC.
Cheers.

This is the Laser Head sensor LFS-AP01 working with the DT-115 comparator.

gr8 but use the original BCL-AMP better for u,,
much faster and cleaner signal it will work with u out of box. if u treat it as thcad

Would it be possible to make a similar video but show the screen while LinuxCNC is driving the table?
