gr8 process
whats ur leadscew pitch,
the problem we are expert in plasma and we use to run machine at slow speed
with laser u need 50m/min + becuse this is the cutting speed for 2kw on 1mm sheet,
its more interesting when u build Formula 1 machine,
. my all metal machine speed is about 75m and acceleration about 0.99G

also for servo as u know the best servos is yasakawa,,, but delta b3 is better, the main advantage with those, that there tunning process is very accurate and detects the inertia of ur system , so u can see the machine, using yasakawa have smoother movement than othere japaness servo

you need high inertia  motor for y axis.  and low for x axis ,
for laser building machine is the challenging part

Thanks taloot.
The information you say is accurate to the information to what I have sourced.
For one instance, I should not have a need for 50M/min on the Z axis.
I have settled on 21.9 M/min on the X and Y axis, due the maximum 110 Htz available from the controller.

The challenging part is no problem regarding building the machine.

I am still working with the LFS-AP01 sense, I have now replaced the relays of the DT-115 with Photo Mos relays.
This is now working to 0.002v between the high / low signals for the Fibre Laser sense head height.
The setting of the actual read voltage is set around to 0.0004v, but the read voltage will  be a digit higher when running.
I have ordered volt metre to read the extra digit.

A video showing the reaction is below, not at 20M/min, but it works.

Please let me know if I shouldn't resurrect this thread, but instead ask somewhere else. I am starting in on a LinuxCNC fiber laser project, and am working with a BCL-AMP sensor. I was wondering if the correct pinout was ever conclusively determined for the 4 pin connector. 5V or 24V? Also is the sensor PWM or frequency output? It seems like it can possibly be used as a drop-in replacement for THCAD, but I believe a THCAD outputs frequency. I've never been able to find a data sheet on the BCL-AMP. I'm hoping since the time this thread dropped off folks have made progress on workable fiber laser LinuxCNC machines.

Thanks!

Scott.
There is possibly a need to do it.
I am using the LFS-AP01 sensor.
I've the Laser head and sensor running through the Mosfet relayed DT115, holding 0.15mm clearance at 8000mm/min.

Thanks. Am I understanding it right that the LFS-AP01 is similar in the plasma world to the dedicated torch height controllers that worked independently of something like LinuxCNC? And if that analogy holds, I think the potential is for the BCL-AMP to be analogous to the THCAD board, feeding a capacitance value into LinuxCNC by way of the velocity of an encoder input so that LinuxCNC can do torch height control via external offsets.

If that's the case I'm much more interested in getting the BCL-AMP to work, but information on that sensor has been hard to come by.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott.
The LFS-AP01 has an adjustable voltage to position of 0 to10 volts.
The voltage is sensed from the capacitive field produced by the Laser cutting nozzle.
By putting this voltage into the modified DT115, I was able to set the nozzle height to plate by adjusting both the LFS-AP01 and the read value of the DT115.
Once establishing the desired voltage, the DT115 is the only read voltage being adjusted by utilizing a 5 digit volt metre.
If the read voltage in under 4 volts, it will read something like 1.2344 volts, (eg).
I could not get the BCL-AMP to work, it may have been faulty.
I will try and find the literature gathered and put up here.
Cheers, Lilow.
