Sorry I missed your last post.

Try Halshow with other parport inputs, it may be a faulty input.

Are you directly grounding the pin in the parport or via the BOB. Also I think some BOB ground is not the same as parport ground.

I thought we might get other folk posting but nothing yet...

OK A pic of the PPort bob might help the cheap Chinese one's require 12-24V as well as the 5v in order for the inputs to work

feeding 12v to the board seems to have done the trick. I only had the 5v power source hooked up until now. As far as I can tell right now it is working. Thanks Clive.
