Check the delay in the config tab, it must be set to some high value.

I walked away from it last night and started again this morning and now it seems to be working fine. Not sure what changed, I didn't do anything to the machine other than let it sit overnight.

That is the way to do it. The number of times I do that and the solution comes to me as I go to bed or as I wake up!
