Can you share your custom hal?
Do you use an arc-ok signal in the machine?
What is the value for setp db_arc-ok.delay?
needs to be 10 or greater

Do you get any error messages when it fails?

Do you have a Torch Pulse button as a user button?, if so does that work?

Start Fail Timer - 15
Max Starts - 3
Retry - 60
No errors and yes i have a pulse button and all it does is air.

I do use an arc-ok
my arc-ok delay is 5

I will change it and see and attached is my custom hal

The change of the arc delay didn't do anything.
I have swapped tips from shielded to non.
All it does is shoot air.
I know it has to be something simple but i am at a loss.

I think the torch is trying to be turned on and is then turned off by Plasmac for some reason.

Some people have had trouble with the ArcOK turning off from bouncing contacts which kills the arc before it starts.
The Hypertherm internal relay has a 10 ms on time. Changing the debounce to be >= 10 fixed their problem.
Try changing it to 15 so it is > the turn on time.

The other issue that has occurred to me is the Mesa card is a low impedance circuit and does not draw enough current through the relay contacts. For a 24 volt circuit, you need to add a 100 ohm 10 W resistor

PCW Says "Another way of providing wetting current without any added power dissipation
is to parallel the contacts with a small film capacitor circuit (say 1 uF
capacitor for a 24V circuit) This provides a high surge current on contact
closure but the total energy is limited (~.03 mJ)" See
forum.linuxcnc.org/plasmac/40819-arc-ok-...fire?start=50#191678

From here I would disable ArcOK in the QTPLasmac control panel and see if you can cut. This should confirm if my diagnosis is correct. Then obtain the components to modify your circuit.

If that were the case then it should give a lost arc error. Apparently there are no error messages.
