I personally think the screen should be designed for 16:9 aspect ratio screens. Its really designed for touch screens and its hard to find a different aspect ratio (touch enabled) today at a reasonable price. This is the monitor I would use.
www.asus.com/au/Monitors/VT168H/
1368 x 768 (16:9) 15.6"
I bought one from Scorptech for $279
www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/17-22-inch/71962-vt168h
In the US its about USD $175
You can get industrial panels that size too.
My current touch screen is too big but thats partly the Gmocappy layout but I think the 15" will be perfect!
Oh and also the MDI keyboard is not following the theme, but I assumed it was a WIP. I could not see a space bar on it either.

The real estate issue is hard to get around when trying to accommodate different screen sizes and aspect ratios...

If you copy these into the config directory you will be able to see the arc voltage display plus a few LEDs.

It does not like your posgui.hal file.
If I comment out the postgui in the ini file it opens....
Warning: Spoiler!

Did you put all three files in the config directory?

Yeh, this error indicates, I also need a sim in my system and I don't think I would have that..

QT screens go in your config folder or:
/home/rod/linuxcnc-plasmac/share/qtvcp/screens/THE_SCREEN_NAME/
/home/rod/linuxcnc-plasmac/share/qtvcp/screens/THE_SCREEN_NAME/

I downloaded both zip files and reviewed the contents. You have not sent me
qtplasmac_sim.ui
Can you send it through? I won't be able to look again until tonight.

Well I built a VirtualBox VM and it also shows the colors correctly, looks like more tail chasing...
