problem with homing was created by hanz24
I have a problem with homing in the lcnc sim. First, i jog the axis xz and then try to home all axis, and it's works. But when i try to do that again, its only homing for the x axis, and z axis didn't go to the home coordinate. Already check the ini file and it's all same with x and z axis, what can i do to solve this.

And i also want to try to jog a-axis with external push button, is this hal configuration enough to do that
Code:
setp halui.axis.a.jog-speed 100 net jog-a-plus-raw debounce.0.0.in <= hm2_7i98.0.gpio.001.in_not  net jog-a-plus debounce.0.0.out => halui.axis.a.plus net jog-a-minus-raw debounce.0.1.in <= hm2_7i98.0.gpio.005.in_not net jog-a-minus debounce.0.1.out => halui.axis.a.minus

there should be a specific post processor for Plasmac shipped with Sheetcam (before QTplasmac) Try it and read the file as there are notes at the top.

@Tommy, line numbers in linuxcnc are optional and Sheetcam has settings to generate with and without.

If you use 2.10, there are some changes to make it easier by doing it the Debian way (to a Deb file). The Debian way installs all the required dependencies so check the 2.10 Docs. Otherwise there is a how to video on my MrRodW YouTube channel

Hi all

I have a dragon rise USB board (pendant) attached to one of my machines. When I first home the machine all of the buttons work as expected (IE I can jog the machine around)

After I press one of the macro buttons on the screen ( Switched Home or Work Zero) the USB pendant stops working.
I'm guessing that the macros are not exiting properly but I can find no errors.
I am running debian 3.10 with LinuxCNC 2.9.4

I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers on this.
Thanks
Alex

About 1, it would be much better to have some pictures to be able to answer exactly, but in general, LinuxCNC is very flexible and quite easy to make it do pretty much everything within reason.
I am sure Todd has a machine with 4 of Z axis, just not sure if independent, but again sure it should be possible.
If you wander a bit through the "show your stuff" section of the forum, pretty quickly you can find all types of machines controlled by it, personally i have from small "scratcher" machines for pictures on granite/stone/glass to huge industrial machines (plasma, mills, lathes) and some welding robots and small dental 4 axis clear aligner cutter.
Plenty of pictures and videos there.

T470 with FHD 120Hz touchscreen
Y370 laptop/tablet/pen/FHD 120Hz touchscreen
X1 Yoga gen1 laptop/tablet/FHD 120Hz touchscreen
Plain ol X240 seems OK also, had 2, still have one in active use

Notice the touchscreen and VSync frequency, those are very important as they are top of that line, meaning other versions might or might not be good latency vise.
The link i posted above has all the info and videos of them in use plasma cutting, so no interference issues with touchscreen.

"old Lenovo laptops at 100-200 Euro a piece"
Tommy,
could you kindly name a few of them?
I could test a T440p, T460p for example.

PS: these do NOT have touch screens, though

I don't think so, those appear to have analog sinusoidal outputs so
require an interpolator (that is, they are not standard quadrature encoders)

Please tell me, can I use encoders from the Mitutoyo AT111-100F або AT111-200S series?

Try it out. This should draw the tool, detect your machine's workspace, and correctly map the A-axis rotation.Copy the entire directory to "/usr/share/qtvcp/panels" and run "qtvcp machine-test"

DANNNNGGGGGGG. This is so impresive. The arc cuts are actually so clean. Wish I had something like this in my FSAE group.

Thanks for being a good sport haha.

Yeah we had to do some tricky stuff and use the m64 and m65 commands for torch on and off in the g-code. Also had to manually add in the pauses before and after cutting to ensure a good arc and full cut had been made.

There's some other odd stuff going on in the background too. The machine thinks the rotary axis is linear and 1 inch of travel is actually 1 rotation. We made a post processor for sheetcam that scales any unwrapped tube profile to be within 1inch as well to correspond to the 1 revolution needed. Lots of strange stuff happening lol.

I am pretty sure it did till 2.7 as i used it on every machine, and we had power outages daily back then.
No idea now as we have no power outages so i do not use it anymore.
