You may be editing the correct files, but maybe you are not running the right files?

If you start from a desktop entry, what is the command-line that it runs?

I’m going to try that next. I’ve been avoiding it since my English isn't the best, but I've already sent a few emails and haven't received a response yet.

Does anyone know if Mesa is having trouble getting back to people lately?

The USB Ethernet adapter is likely the main issue here

Running:

sudo chrt 99 ping -i .001 -q -c 60000 10.10.10.10

in a terminal window will give you an idea of the latency of the hosts Ethernet interface

( The command will run for 1 minute and then print timing statistics )

New installation using a Yoga C340 and Mesa 7i96s

I'm getting an error when I start LinuxCNC, "Error finishing read! iter 8 ?
Red LED on Mesa turns on when this ocuurs.

I'm using a USB-C to Ethernet adapter and my best hunch is that this might be the problem?

Connection information is as follows:
IPV4
IP address 10.10.10.100
Broadcast address 10.255.255.255
Subnet mask 255.0.0.0.

7i96s jumpers are down, up = EEPROM

Is there something incorrect with the settings above?

The adapter I'm using is this one:  www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BR3M8XHK?ref=ppx_yo2o..._fed_asin_title&th=1

I'm not sure what steps I should take to troubleshoot?

Hallo,

Mario

Well, that's the question... There's a few ideas floating around I've seen.

If you think this is on one hand not real and unworkable, but one the other hand suspect that they are "hiding something else" - What do you have in mind that they (whoever that is) want to achieve?

Important to remember this is JUST rage bait, and not real.
They literally aren't banning anything, they are proposing a restriction that is not workable even if it got passed, which it won't.

Should you be concerned at their lack of knowledge to understand their own laws? Yes. Should you be concern this will somehow impact your printers or CNC's? No. Should you be concerned this will make linuxcnc disappear? No. That's literally not even possible.

You need educate your local government if you see bills pop up like this, they are clearly clueless. Responding as if this is an existential threat though is just being as silly as they are and not in the least bit helpful.

My opinion is that this proposed law is SO dumb that it is hiding something else. Follow the money as they say. Who benefits from this? It's not gun safety advocates.

we are limited to what we can do.

This statement does no compute.

There are no constraints on HostMot2 FPGA pins, any pin can be any function
so a 7I74 ( 8 channel RS-422/-RS-485 interface) can have any mix of functions
that physically match the 7I74 pinout. That is, for example, you could have
SSI,BISS,Fanuc absolute encoders are sserial mixed on the same 7I74.
You could even have Step/Dir outputs on output channels and say period
measurement on input channels.

And yet more. call it rage bait if you want. Remember this isn't just about 3D printers  it concerns ANY machine Additive
or Subtractive.

I was not getting anything on halshow and then I used a multimeter on the encoder and did not get anything. I thought it may have been damaged so I ordered another and hope to install it Sat or Monday.
