I am now having trouble with the Maho 400E. The machine was working normally, had a normal shut down, and the next day started erring out.
It does not seem to be a LinuxCNC or Mesa issue as it boots into LinuxCNC without error.
** Note - It is configured as a vertical mill, but Maho configured as a horizontal, so on the original schematics, Y and Z are switched.
** Note - The HAL and Ini are attached to the first posts in this thread.
Consistent symptoms.
- X axis jogs without error.
- Y axis will jog in either direction, as far as I like, but as soon as I release the jog button, it faults with a " Y axis following error"
- Z axis faults immediately as soon as jog button pushed to "Z axis following error".
These symptoms are consistent and repeatable.
In addition, inconsistent symptoms are
- When it first happened the "Control Voltage Fault" light was lit on the Indramat server amp. This has not lit again
- On start up, sometimes it refuses to latch on, sometimes it drops the latch immediately with a " External estop set" messages:
Troubleshooting:
- The 3Ph power at the wall probed normal.
- The 3ph power in the cabinet after the main switch probed fine
- The 2x90VAC and 2x 140VAC which input to the Indramat probe fine at the input to the 7K1 relay.
- The E-Stop chain has continuity.
- The Machine is ready chain through the motor overheat protection (8B2/9B2/10B2) is working.
- Interchanging the Heidenhain EXE's makes no difference to behaviour (withing the limitation that Y and Z EXE's have different resolutions, and therefore the PID tuning is off on the swap).
-manually jogging Y with a hex drive, the linear scale follows motion.
It would seem that the next troubleshooting step is to work out whether the Indramat is faulting and dropping the 7A1 contact.
...or it the issue is driven by the latching circuit
How would you recommend troubleshooting to isolate which is cause, and which is effect, with these actions which occur nearly similtaneously? With pins or signals should I put on the Halscope, and what am I looking for please?

Hello,
I've spent a few days getting Linuxcnc 2.9.7 up and running with a Mesa 5i25 board, properly flashed and functioning.
My hardware setup consists of 2no X-axis gecko 203V drives, 1no Y - axis, 1no Z-axis, and 1no A-axis.
I have x,y,z home switches, e-stop, and Highspeed Spindle.
I have been trying to get the mesa card to work with a HKD 5 AXIS MACH3 BOB.
Currently i can get mesa to drive the gecko drives and motors if I connect directly (Testing Purposes Only).
I cannot get the HKD BOB to drive the gecko drives and motors.
I think current master would probably make the most sense as this is where it could actually be merged. 2.9 is for bug fixes only. (Currently recommended stable version is 2.9.7)
I am attaching my INI and HAL files.
I am not sure which pins of the P3 connector on the Mesa 7i43
should be used to connect a stepper motor driver so that it works correctly.
The person who originally configured the system for me
reconfigured axis A to use a stepper motor,
but unfortunately he is no longer with us
and there is no one who could advise me now.
I would be happy to offer compensation for the help.
Hi.
I set up my machine and everything worked for me, but there is a small problem: The direction of movement of the X-Axis is not up to standard.
Please tell me how to change the direction of movement of an axis on a machine? How to swap + and - places? The machine is assembled on an ASD-A2 EtherCat. System LinuxCNC 2.9.2.
I tried to configure the change using scale using the following code:net x-vel-cmd => scale.3.in
setp scale.3.gain -1
net x-vel-cmd-DAC scale.3.out => lcec.0.X.srv-vel-cmdand changing the .iniENCODER_SCALE = -1but the machine goes crazy and does not work normally.
I found lot of messages "Failed to get reference clock time: Input/output error"
in LinuxCNC Console
when I set "refClockSyncCycles="-1" to EtherCat Master configuration.
But if I set refClockSyncCycles="1", I could not see such messages.
I attached
refClockSyncCyclesMinus1.linuxcnc.txt (LinuxCNC Console Log)
refClockSyncCyclesMinus1.dmesg.txt (dmesg Log)
when I execute with "refClockSyncCycles="-1"
And also, for reference, I attached
refClockSyncCycles1.linuxcnc.txt (LinuxCNC Console Log)
refClockSyncCycles1.dmesg.txt (dmesg Log)
when I execute with "refClockSyncCycles="1"
I would like to share an S-Curve jerk control I have been working on, actually since I made the OP, I think the code is pretty battle tested, but I based it on an old version, and I would like to port the code to something that the community will be happy with, what should my base code be from which to introduce the jerk control? are you guys ok with master? or 2.9.4?
The system utilizes three RS485 devices configured in Auto-send mode rather than the standard Query/Response mode to achieve high-speed data transmission. Each device autonomously broadcasts data packets at a 1ms interval. To ensure simultaneous data acquisition and prevent bus contention, right now the solution employs three independent USB-to-RS485 adapters.
I'm looking to move away from USB interfaces due to noise sensitivity and latency concerns at high speeds. I need a more industrial-grade solution that can handle three simultaneous 1ms RS485 streams without data corruption.
Hello. I have a Mesa7i92TH and I need a pinout for a Chinese board (mach3 interface board) 5Axis Breakout Board. 4 encoders and four axes. Why is there no 7i92t_5abob_encd.bin firmware in Mesa Configuration Tool II (I installed it via the terminal)? Maybe I need different firmware? 7i92t_7i85sx2d.bin, but it's not there either)))
Thank you very much for your help.
