right now the lathe is just a lathe the milling attachment has been removed for a long time. i picked up a Bridgeport mill about 10 years back so this little milling head has been sitting around for years gathering dust.
the plan is to take this little mini mill head and attach it to the gantry table i'm working on so i can have the ability to make some bigger stuff that does not fit on the Bridgeport mill i have.
plasma is something i would like to have a head for to for this machine as well. it started as a plasma build but the longer i work on it the more i change things
the plan is to have different heads to attach to this gantry table so i can pick and choose a process to use with the same table.

My first LinuxCNC machine was very similar, possibly the next size up, and stretched to make it even more flexible?

It even featured in my surprisingly popular YouTube video:

I am jealous of how clean it is. My workshop seems to attract dust.
And when the water table comes up, this happens:
photos.app.goo.gl/jdYVdVaz3WC4nbTY9
(though that is an old photo, every machine in there has moved or been sold since. The chinese lathe was sold and the Harrison mill is now in that position, the Rivett lathe is in the living room and the Holbrook Minor lathe is where the mill is in the photo. )
I don't have a photo, it's a cramped mess, half full of motorcycles and bicycles.
Anyone want to offer a home to my dad's 1958 Rudge bicycle? It has a nice Cyclo-Benelux 4-speed derraileur.

Tommy, I have to say I'm really impressed with the progress you've made with the Mazac!

Well that is still waiting for the relocation, hopefully this year as i am tired of waiting for it.
I just can not justify droping 3000Euro on a new power installation and leaving that behind when and if i move. You are right, it is a pitty watching that magnificent machine sitting there idle.
It has a big transformer so the inrush current is more than my existing installation can handle.

Sorry its was the big green elephant in the room. (well at the back of the room anyway!)
I'm actually resisting the temptation of a similar elephant at the moment. There is a working Colchester CNC 2000L lathe near me for $4.5k but the whole idea of storing the said elephant for 10 years before I tackle it scares me!
