Awesome. So my drive shaft idea is not completely whacked? lol - I have a good friend who is continually giving me shit for over engineering.

That 15-25mm rule of thumb is gold! Helps with so many other decisions in the drive chain design.

Workshops coming together nicely Tom,

Do you have any kind of heating system planned? I would think you would need something with all that snow! Or is it a case of 4 layers of clothing and two layers of gloves? Back when I was on the tools I worked in a shop with heating but when you went outside on a winters morning you knew about it!

No heating! Personally i like to adjust to the weather so i spend the whole winter in a t-shirt and a jacket, even when working at -11C in the shop, the only thing that changes are shoes.
Also the windows are looking east so should provide plenty of heat in the winter since mornings are mostly sunny.
And just to be sure, i do have a 68KW wood burning central heating "stow" in my back yard with a 300 Litre boiler that can also be attached to solar heating, and that is something i have to do very soon.

It could probably do with a couple more lights ;) Looks like you will be making sparks soon Tom!

Also I like the sound system, no shop is complete without music pumping at 100 decibels.
