Leith,

Ok here is the TB2/TB3 schematic. I will have to go back and see where I pulled this from and what year machine it's for, but at least something to look at. Keep in mind there are other schematics to tie in with this. I had to make tons of copies of the schematics, lay them all out on the floor and use colored markers to trace what everything did. BUT this one schematic should help, or maybe confuse LOL.

Will need to start getting you more schematics found and up.

Hope this helps,
Robert

Leith,

On a tangent, just found this in one of my Hurco Ultimax manuals. Below is a pinout of a Tape Emulator that Hurco apparently had, and definitely for our control. I think this Ultimax manual is from 1994, but not sure... I got it a long time ago.

Also below that pic is another pic of the RS-232 plug out of the same Ultimax manual. So it looks like they kept continuity for all the machines with the plug wiring. They showed 4 or 5 different type of plugs in later models, but not our model.

Leith,

Ok probably not going to be the best upload, but here is several schematics in one PDF

EDIT: In the future I will see about getting them up one at a time if needed and hopefully larger, you may already have these.

EDIT #2: I forgot to add that these are not the one's from my machine as I need to get my Dad to pull the correct set. I had these in my computer at my house and was trying to get you something up to work with.

On the back of the machine, there is a single round amphenol connector.

Pretty sure it was put there by the Hurco factory because of the blue paint on the screw heads.Inside, this connector connects to an obviously home made black box. The black box has a single opto isolator, pointing out. It connected to the bottom of the relay board as previously described. KMB-1M documentation says there should be two round connectors??

Here's a pic of the MPU board. No connector for the RS-232 busses. No UARTs on the board.

The board does have an open ROM socket. If I could wave my magic wand, I'd put the boot image there. While this is technically quite feasible, don't know if its supported or not.
