So, in the end my shopping cart will look like this:
Just one thing is not clear. For which purpose do we use card with FPGA? Sorry, maybe the questions are dummy, but i am noob in this area.
- 7I92TF
- 7I83
- 7I84 sourcing outputs
- 7i85

7i92TM would be better as it plugs directly to 7i85 so no cable needed.
FPGA takes care of the complicated stuff like, generating steps, counting encoders, etc, at very, very fast rates.

Hi, i got info that 7I77 will be available maybe next week in EU. I dont know if advertising is allowed but there is one european site for MESA boards ordering.
So my question would be, should i keep the combo, or to replace one part with 7I77?

Also, what consernes me is that Inputs on 7I77 are sinking. And i think that i have PNP or sourcing sensors on my Deckel?

The reason I choose the five board solution for my lathe, was because I knew I would want multiple smart serial daughter boards. (At least one 7i84, and one, probably two 7i73's). The 5i25 would need a bit of firmware configuring to connect up further SS to it's pinhead connector, to expand beyond the single SS channel of the 7i77, whereas the 7i85 offered 5 SS channels as it's default config.
The Mesa hardware is very flexible, so you can achieve your goals with a number for different cards. I am considering even adding a second 7i84 to the lathe, as I ran out of 24V outputs.
