Yes I tried that also to just connect P10 and only setup joint 0/X1, but no luck unfortunately…

but 9V, isn’t that a strange number?

No 9v is fine it depends on the voltage of the 12-24v

Ok resend the hal and ini files as I have set up a jig on the bench with a BOB the same as yours.

I will then use your config to try it out. I actually have it working fine with just a config from stepcof

I've attached my complete folder.
I just tried with a new basic setup fresh from the stepconf, but still no luck.

I also attached a screenshot from the Hal Watch... I'm looking at the right one right?

I think your problem is with the wiring of your little switch boards. I'm not sure exactly what voltage those need to work. But they would need a power supply to the V terminal, ground to the G terminal, and S would be the signal. I'm not sure they can even work with your break out board. (Your BOB uses a sourcing input that must be pulled to ground to activate.) It might be simpler to unsolder the simple switch from it's board and wire it directly to the break out board.

Thanks for the reply Todd, but I switched out the switches with other ones:

I wired them up NO and when I measure the voltage from the BOB’s input it’s 9V when not triggered, 0V when I ‘hand’ trigger

In hal show, watch the input pin, not hal pins.

I’ve searched for it before, but didn’t find it… can you point me in the right direction?
I’ll have a look for it to see if I can find it
