So the inputs rely on the 5V USB and not the 12/24V?
It could be that just the usb connection was not supplying enough power

For the inputs to work you need both as you have seen you get 9V with the 24v connected which is correct.
Please use a 5V supply instead of the USB
This could have been sorted out 50 posts ago. I know you are trying but I feel like I am pulling hens teeth out

I will try it, but first I need a new BOB... When you posted it, I just fried my BOB (stupid)

I connected the - from the 24V power supply to GND next to the input pins...

I connected the - from the 24V power supply to GND next to the input pins...
Are you sure you did not connect the+

Yes I'm pretty sure...
I can't check anymore, but I have + and - terminal blocks... and I have connected it to -
But I do have to say that here in NL you can plug-in the power socket 2 ways... (EU socket) If you know what I mean
