That was after a full screen youtube with no bios changes. I've used it many times for milling and it works fine. Twice I had it pause during a 40 minute job I think due to the screen saver but it resumed without missing a beat.
I wouldn't watch full screen youtubes while a job was running.

Just bought one of these: www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5017#ov to run my machine along with 8Gb DDR3 1600MHz memory and a Pentium G3260 LGA1150 3.30GHz CPU. I'll report back when I get everything installed.

All installed with the latest debian iso (2.7). bios tweaked to turn everything off that didn't need to be there and this is the result of the latency test. In this shot this stuff has been running for 8 hours after beating the machine up and going to bed. Best I have EVER had out of a PC for LinuxCNC

Very-very Nice mate!
You should add all this data to the page wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Latency-Test
Gygabite GA-H81M-S2PH - Max Jitter < 5k. Great!

Where did you get it from? I only see Rev. 1 in places like NewEgg...

I picked it up from and Australian supplier, mwave.com.au. They called it a bulk lot item, didn't come with a box but did have the cables etc. Cost me AUD78.00

Did you notice if your board is Rev 2.0 like your link or is it Rev 1.0? I don't see anything on the AU site that mentions what rev it is.

I got the same main board too last week from Mwave but I got the 'K' processor for it, the 3258. It has a up to date FC bios so its a rev 2 or 2.1 . I all ready had the 1333 8 gig ram and a Nivia 450gts. Did my first over clock this evening from 3.2 to 4 and got 10000 on Preempt RT 64bit Jessie. Now I can watch youtubes while jobs are running.
. I prefer Gnome as I use it on Fedora with QCad-Cam inside in our study.
Us Aussies have to do this as the freight on the Messa boards is nearly as much as the cost. Will post screen shots soon.

Yup, mine has FC bios as well. Great little board and cheap and one of the few with a parallel port. You're not wrong about Mesa, a tad under A$400 for the 5i25 with 7i76 which is why I built this machine and am getting my PMDX126 working fully.
Strange thing though I am get realtime errors at the moment, I suspect it may be the wireless network card. Going to pull that out to see if it is the issue.
