Intel cpu on board motherboard suggestion

The PP Pci-e card with the OXFORD OXPCIe952 chip works very good with LinuxCNC.
My problem right now (a week trying to solve it) is to set the proper resolution of the monitor to the integrated graphics ATI HD 6310. A NIGHTMARE!!

Despite the fact that xorg.conf seems to be deprecated it seems to sometimes be the only way to get the right monitor resolution.

I had the opposite experience recently, I switched to Debian and realised for the first time that my monitor is natively 1280x1024 not 1024x768 which is all that Ubuntu would ever drive it at.

I finally managed to set it up with debian, but latency has rocketed up to 30 000.
In the end I went back to Ubuntu 10, now the graphics is very bad because of poor resolution, I uninstalled and reinstalled a lot of drivers without any positive result instead latency is very satisfying <7000 with and without UEFI-BIOS tweaks. I am inclined not to recommend my motherboard I think there are other less painful options. It seems that Linux does not get on very well with radeon graphics.

Sometimes resolution problems aren't the fault of the graphics card but the problem is a monitor that doesn't properly transmit its capabilities.

I had one that gave me fits. The computer would start in low res. (800x600), and the only way to get it to work was to unplug the monitor from the vga port, boot the pc, then plug it back in after it was going. Then it would run fine in 1024x720.

That trick usually only works on analog vga ports, DVI ports and digital video ports are not hot pluggable. (HDMI ???)

I tried using the DVI output and I got the black screen, then I tried the VGA that didn't make any adjustment.
I have another issue, my linuxcnc.var has became volatile. My variables are resetting each time I turn off the PC.
I should better get a new motherboard with the H81 chipset and the less expensive Celeron processor there is, I think all these motherboard are just fine with LinuxCNC-Ubuntu 10 having a latency lower than 10 000

So I just bought the GIGABYTE H81M-DS2 with the Intel Celeron G1840 processor from a shop close to home, I installed Debian, and I got a latency lower than 13 000, then I switched to Ubuntu 10 and test latency does not exceed the 9000, all that has done with 20 windows of glxgears for an hour.
Right now I proceed to do the installation of Linux Mint LMDE 2, later will test it on my router and tell you guys what were the results I obtained. Whatever happens I prefer this motherboard (it hasn't a DVI port) because IMHO is Linux friendly.
(sorry for my neanderthal english)
