Download This perfectly suitable to use on a PC:
cnc.beaglebrainz.net/cdimage/cnc-19.3.0-...lus-uspace-64bit.iso
Write to a flash drive(no need to install), boot up and run in a terminal
Take a screen shot and post that up.
If you are happy I can give instructions on how to install the kernel & packages that are exactly the same as on the ISO.
Or if you have nothing invested in your current Mint install you can install from the flash drive.

Code:
latency-histogram --noabse

This is a Dell Optiplex 780 with 2GB RAM and 500GB HDD. Onboard video.
Here it is. I was running gears, youtube video streaming. This is running your linux from a usb stick. I can easily wipe out my current install of mint and replace with this, but I honestly don't know if these results are good or bad.
I fear this machine won't be adequate to deal with the very large g-code files I want to throw at it, 1.4million lines and up. I tried to open one of these large files, 35MB, in linuxcnc on this machine and it choked hard. To add to the burden on whatever PC I go with, I also want to be able to run g-code ripper autoleveling on these large files.
At this point, I'm happy to buy a snappier PC if I can first figure out whether or not Linuxcnc and gcode ripper autolevel will get me where I need to go. Any advice is very welcome.
Thank you,
Tyler

OOOOPS my bad
command should have been latency-histogram --nobase
Not that misspelt rubbish I post before
The servo period looks ok as run, it may get a bit better without the base thread.
As usual turn off as much power saving as possible and hyperthreading.
Is your drive a mechanical or sdd ?
A bit more RAM maybe of help with opening larger files.
A few guys have had luck with mini ITX boards with J series celerons. ATM I'm running an Asrock J3355B but testing the Odroid h2+ as a replacement.

It's HDD, spinny, spinny, and noisy too.
Let us know how you make out with the Odroid h2+. I've been running Rpi4 with bCNC grbl for a few years now and am looking to improve things. I'm spoiled by the lack of space and care you need with Rpi4, having a PC in with your gear is so much more cumbersome.
Cheers,
Tyler

So far after 3 iterations I got a workable install image.......I was having issue with DKMS & NIC driver, so I just dropped them in place manually.
Running the latency test looks promising.
The issue I have ATM is whilst I can hook to my MESA 7i92 the mill is awaiting bits from the US so I can finish the control box for the new spindle.
Thought I was getting there but my supplier sent the wrong AUX contact for my contactors, so waiting for that along with the DIN rail terminal blocks. Unlike the Northern Hemsiphere we Down Under have to buy a lot of stuff from OS so it takes some time.
Isn't it wonderful being spoiled by a lack of space ?

OH man! I just ordered an Odroid h2+. I do hope you'll share your iso with us! Pretty please!
Hell, I'll even send you a bottle of your favorite poison!
Cheers,
Tyler
