I started from scratch with the standard examples. I made some adjustments, and now Remora Input 4 is responding. However, this only happens when the emergency shutdown is disabled in the GUI. So, Remora probably only starts working after that.

I'm starting to go crazy, I don't understand what to do anymore I see people using files for ec500 on nvemV5 which files are correct for nvem V5 rt1052?

this github.com/scottalford75/Remora-RT1052-c...ec500-rt1052-DMA.txt
or github.com/scottalford75/Remora-RT1052-c...xCNC/nvem-rt1052.txt

Excuse me if I may, but wouldn't it be better to create these posts to create a bit of order?

You said "this only happens when the emergency shutdown is disabled in the GUI." So does this mean that there is a bug in the estop or just not quite the correct configuration for it to fully function?

The nvem-rt1052.txt is the one you want to use for the NVEM v5 to upload to the unit. Then the remora-ec500.hal and remora-ec500.ini, as from what I have been lead to believe the .hal and .ini files are more or less universal among the 3 units. Following that path, I have gotten a few inputs to work and while not fully tested with motors, the X Y and Z seem to be outputting pulse and direction signals when g-code is run.

edit: I agree that it would be nice if all this was split between the boards, it can get extremely confusing very fast.

Does this work for you with steppers? Could you show me a little video? Internal photos of the board?

This is my E-stop in my .hal file.

net nvem-estop <= estop-latch.0.fault-in <= remora.input.14

It's just a switch. Once the input is triggered it should work.

Hi, what board do you have? with what microcontroller?

Unfortunately I do not have this unit wired in yet. I got this to replace a complete POS usb board that shipped with the mill and never worked from the moment it came out of the crate. (no direction change on x and y and no spindle control), I am trying to get everything working on the bench first just in case I might need to reflash the unit. Save me the hassle of having to completely unwire and rewire the unit if something turns up wrong.

I used the remora-rt1052-basic version because that was what was recommend to me.

Sorry I'm not able to be more helpful as I am very new to both LinuxCNC and this Remora stuff.

if it is stepper timing related you need to load the DMA stepgen config and adjust your step timing accordingly

I don't understand well,
I have to load all from:
github.com/scottalford75/Remora-RT1052-c...CNC/remora-ec500-DMA
and upload this to NVEM:
github.com/scottalford75/Remora-RT1052-c...ec500-rt1052-DMA.txt

Alright its starting to look like the inmates are running the asylum. Everyone just hold on for a moment, breath in and out, and cool our heads. I know english or linuxcnc isnt everyones first language, but it looks like everyone is working off each others confusion, and you guys are spiraling out. I think there are some core concepts we arent all understanding completely. Its clear that you guys are smart people, so lets hold on for a moment and regroup, and always read the manual. If you atre getting frustrated, just start from page one and read. If there are things getting lost in translation on the documents, letting us know would be great, and we can change some of the wording. I know the docs arent perfect, but the core concepts are the same for the whole of remora.

Also, if its a remora specific question, it is best to ask in the thread. remora isnt really a big wide linuxcnc thing, it makes it harder to find your thread.
