For what type of machine are you using it? XXYZ stepper motor on all axis

PC is HP with an athlon x4 with 6gb ram isolcpus=3,4 clock speed fixed at 2.8 gHz pulse audio removed could easilly run on parallel port.

What is your config? default config .ini with scale for joint 0 1 and 2 are 53.333. Joint 3 scale is set to default. (old joint 2 default) Acceleration was lowered to 1000 servo_period was lowered to 500000 as suggested with no progress and reverted to 10000000.
remora settings are config full setting without modifications.

For how long did run the latency test? Did open various things in the meantime?
Latency test is good and not the object. could easilly run on parallel port.

You're talking about a main thread, I guess you mean the base thread which you don't need with Remora and 12000 of what?
yes base thread - 12000 max jitter

What's the brand of your network adapter?
Realtek for both adapters but am unaware of problems with debian10 and realtek

@palain Is you STEPGEN_MAXACCEL higher than MAX_ACCELERATION?
With backlash compensation enabled it seems this should be doubled.

Did you try another power adapter? Could it be due to noise of the machine you're using (plasma?).

Could it be the network manager you're using?

Does ping give a constant value?

Already tried to set the MIN_FERROR a bit higher? (to 1 for example)

In the config for Remora you could try to enable the parts you'll need instead of the full config.

X-Axis at 3000mm/minutes with a SCALE of 1600
50mm/second * 1600steps/mm = 80000Hz (80kHz)

a printer with a SCALE of 80 can run at F60000 (theoretical)

EDIT:
ahh , that will be the reason,
that I have jitter with your firmware and you not,
I have to drive at a scale of 1600 much much higher frequencies than a printer with a scale of 80

Hi Scott,

I got your new EC500 beta firmware loaded. The new firmware makes all undefined IO LED's lights go out now, great!!!. Do you know the new EC500 IO pin mapping?

Thanks,

Justin

For anyone wanting to install firmware to EC500 with RT1052 with one ST-Link I just ran the Linuxcnc live install from USB and got it to work first go with zero drama.

Only three commands run, factory settings ST-Link. FW version V2.J29.S7

sudo apt install python-pip
sudo python -m pip install -U pyocd

(run this last command from folder with firmware file, make sure highlighted text matches your file name)
sudo pyocd flash ./remora-rt1052.bin --target mimxrt1050_quadspi

Now anyone with a PC, one ST-Link and USB drive can install it first go.

HUGE THANKS TO FRAYJA

Hi Scott.
How long does it take for send/recv data?
You analyzed using Wireshark (traffic analyzer program).
Thank you.
