LOL!!!!

I think I found the problem...

Some time in the pass, a G20 code was issued in my program.... Don't ask me how it get ther but it was there...

A simple G21 solved the whole of my own "mess"...

John, I could had done it without you help... found the clue in " which 'mess' are you talking about"

Edit:
Found that naughty G20 in the default EMC2.4/Axis g-code. I will add a G21 lin in my post processor just to be sure this doesn't happen in the future.

I am so glad you sorted that out!

So I gather your set up for millimeters and when you issued the G92 Z15 you were expecting 15mm and you got the conversion from 15 inches to 381millimeters. That would blow your mind... As you have found out a good practice is to put all the settings like units, turning off comp etc. in the preamble of every file. For my lathe my preamble line is something like this:

G7 G18 G20 G40 G49 G54 G61P0.001 G80 G90

John,
I see G20 & G61. hmmm... trujutory control is something I should put in my preamble line too.
Thanks for the help.
I felt like an idiot when I realised the cause of this G92 episode... a problem which wasn't a real problem BUT I am glad its "solved" :)
Otherwise, I would not had learnt a great deal more on co-ordinate related codes.

I can sleep tonight with peace. :)

I can't thank you more...

Regards

Ken
