I've done everything except setup the RIP environment, I do not see an option when running linuxcnc.

How's the Plasma/Laser build coming along? I'td be really helpful to select a machine type and pinout the requisite components through the gui.

Are you suggesting that I get a Mesa THCAD instead of using the proma?

You know what, I really appreciate the number of options I apparently have at my disposal, for right now I just need the machine to work: I can play around with all the options AFTER the machine is working. For now, the simplest option appears to be THCUD. I only need help filling in some of the blanks.

For the THC.hal; I am not sure how to fill some of these out
thcud (requires a floating-point thread)
thcud.current-vel float in: Connect to motion.current-vel
thcud.requested-vel float in: Connect to motion.requested-vel
thcud.enable bit in: Enable the THC, if not enabled Z position is passed through
thcud.z-pos-in float in: Z Motor Position Command in from axis.n.motor-pos-cmd
thcud.z-pos-out float out: Z Motor Position Command Out
thcud.z-fb-out float out: Z Position Feedback to Axis
thcud.cur-offset float out: The Current Offset
thcud.vel-status bit out: When the THC thinks we are at requested speed
thcud.removing-offset bit out: Pin for testing

For the Machine HAL, where do I put these lines?
net requested-vel thcud.requested-vel <= motion.requested-vel
net current-vel thcud.current-vel <= motion.current-vel

Yo, can I get some help here? I'm reading through all the literature on what exactly these are, it's not exactly helping me implement THCUD.

Okay. I've followed the instructions in the link Grotius posted for the RIP/offsets, I have not been able to find where to implement the RIP in linuxcnc.

Excellent, I was able to get it going. I'm backing up the Grotius files and wiring in my components. What's the best way to approach modifying the HAL from parport to hm2_eth?

David,

If you have a clean working mesa config for me for your Mesa ethernet card, for example done by the linuxcnc configuration wizard,
, or the provided config's by Mesa and this is working on your machine (tested), then upload your files here. I can take a look to modify it.

By working i mean, xyz axis is working and tuned. torch start commando by spindle on M3 is working. And later on you need
the thcad voltage in.

Excellent, I was able to get it going.

Was it difficult to install? If you had any difficulties, please let them know, i can react on that in the readme file.

@ Grotius
Sweet, thank you!

Other than installing the build dependencies taking a while, it was pretty easy; my experience with linux is very limited and I was able to get it. Decent instructions.

These files work, I can move the machine around but I'm getting errors that I believe are the soft-stops engaging, I've played with the switches and it doesn't seem to make a difference, just in case you see anything.
