I found some information about the encoder.

Hi,
here is a little test video.
Unfortunately there are still problems with the spindle.
We just can't get it to work.

The encoder is a normal quadrature one with index.
What seems to be the issue with the spindle ? No time to go back a read everything, sorry.

I just don't get a signal from the encoder. the wiring is correct, 5V + are present.
When the spindle is at a standstill I measure 3.76V, I turn the spindle by hand, the voltage goes down to 0V and remains until I stop turning.
If the spindle stop, I measure 3.76V again.
The strange thing is, the "plug" on the cable für the spindle driver no longer has a housing, I think someone has already worked on it.

Change the encoder.
Encoders are sensitive and very important for safety of the machine, so i never bother fixing them.

Yes, I will replace the encoder.
Yasakawa´s price for a new on is 1700€ +vat
I will look for an other one.

is this a Yaskawa S626 spindle drive ?
If so are you getting a "PG" error ?
3 volts to the encoder is not correct. Should be 5 volts. Check the voltage with the encoder unplugged,
Connector 3CN 4.5.6 is +5V and 1.2.3 is 0V this is the connector that goes from the drive to the encoder. If your not getting 5 volts there all the time then there is a power supply problem if there is less than 350mA going to the encoder. It is a 350mA power supply in that drive for the encoder.

There is no problem with the 5V supply voltage. the encoder get 5V, but we don't get an output signal.
I still have a Heidenhain encoder, same division, same output signal, we will connect it to the converter on Friday and see if we can get an output signal from the converter to the Mesa card.
This is the easiest way for me.
If the problem with the Heidenhain encoder is gone, I will buy another encoder, but unfortunately there is not much space
