Alrighty, got my little CNC router running. The control I bought (DDCSV3.1) is lacking and I need to get linuxcnc onto it. Waiting for appropriate mesa boards to be in stock.
It doesn't do too bad under the cheap control, but it has no constant velocity (g64) mode and I've had to reduce the acceleration. It also has no real expandable functions.
I am also trying to refine the tuning of the servos a little more. The x and y do well enough, the Z lags 5-10 pulses behind when moving upward. Anyone have these servos and have any tuning advice?
Zoom. 7500mm/m (295ipm) when the control can keep up.

Yeah I had to make my own cause I have a 50mm bolt spacing, and also the shipping was more than the vise!!!!
I was worried the machine wasn't precise enough to make them, but, its just fine. In the longer term I will make the bases and hard jaws from 4140HT, however the price right now for that is offensive haha, $350ish for 2 vises worth.

				Aaaand we're back.
Just ordered a 7i96s and cleared a corner to work on the machine.
It is going to stay as is mechanically for a little bit to make some parts for a project, and then it will make some new parts for itself to transform into this:

Need to get a servo motor with a brake for the Z. Already have a spare ball screw for the dual Y drive. Already have the surface plate, and all the aluminium stock (cutting up un needed part of another machine, aluminium is still stupid expensive).

Just installed new linuxcnc build (same machine as i used in the brother, but new drive) and suddenly it has all the fans running at full speed.
Seems to starts even in the bios, so the install changed something lower level somehow. Any ideas? I see other people reporting similar issues with linux but never any solution.

				You are causing me trouble
I have plenty of new THK35 rails with wide carriages, 2 per rail, waiting and rusting in the shop...
Time....
Will continue to drool over here, maybe something causes me to lock myself in the shop!

				haha
big boy version:
25mm rails (speaking of rusting, my x and y rails are ruined for this machine)
iso25 spindle.620x420mm travel. But this one will cost me $8000 for the parts i dont have, so it is gonna sit there for a while while i do the mini. (the mini I have most parts for already, although id like to upgrade the servos and spindle in the longer term)
