Upgrade to new version:
python3.9 -m pip install viaconstructor==0.4.2
and add this to your linuxcnc config file (.ini) in the '[DISPLAY]' section:
PROGRAM_EXTENSION = .dxf DXF-Drawing
PROGRAM_EXTENSION = .svg SVG-Drawing
dxf = python3.9 -m viaconstructor
svg = python3.9 -m viaconstructor
thats all (i hope)

needs 1 minute 6s for the Dragon file with 1mm offset:
github.com/manuelmcd/dxf2gcode/blob/master/dxf/DRAAK.dxf
need's the same time in laser mode, so the slow part is the DXF-Loader:
can be faster, but all parts are Splines/Bezier Curves

This looks very promising, I have it running on my iMac (intel).
I really like that you can switch from part view to gcode view.
One thing I did notice was that when playing with Start Selector was that the selection point was a long way from the mouse pointer.
Are you intending to add leadins at any stage as I am interested in this for plasma cutting.
Edit: I think it would be worthwhile to start a new thread for this project.
