For the RS485 ports to communicate with the rs485 I/O of the machine and still need the servo control of the 7i77.
/EDIT I guess your going to tell me the 5i25 is capable to handle RS485 buses?

The 7i74 is a RS-422/485 interface? Can use it fir rs-485? then I would just need the 5i25.... correct?

channel 7 of the 7I74 can do RS-485
There are a couple of hurdles to jump however
1. Can you get documentation on the serial protocol?
2. Can it work with the existing HostMOt2 hardware/UART/PktUART driver?

Not sure i can get documentation, but i have access to a machine and equipment that can read the protocol.
What is the uart chip on the 7i74, and i dont know if it can use the driver. I would guess it would need work.

There is no UART chip on the 7I74, just differential drivers and receivers
the UART is in the FPGA
the UART is in the FPGA

I am guessing modbus and usb-rs-485 converter would be easier since this is already developed..
I know this is not in realtime space so the question arises would it be fast enough consistantly to be used in CL and I/O for the machine?

Remap of M6 is done and working. Needs alot of adjustments, speeding up things and timing but WOW, what an adventure.....
I am using time.sleep(x), but going to look at checking when move is comnpleted, then move on. Also need to add different delays and speeds for different cycles.
Thanks for the help guys....
I asked for tool 1, tool2 is in spindle. It drops off tool 2 in pocket and goes and picks up tool 1.
