Hi linux users
i purchase a CMS MAXIMA 4 axis cnc for marble
the machine have FANUC GE SERIES 180i-M CNC controller
when i open the electric cabinet i saw 4 fanuc items and i believe that it was the 4 servo amplifiers
but i was wrong
the 2 items are power supply module A06B-6077-H111
The other 2 items are servo amplifiers modules one A06B -6096-H105 and one A06B-6096-H101
So the question is this
Can i use this amlifiers with linux cnc
Is there anyone with experience in this fanuc items
Any pointing direction is very appreciated

I had a quick look and couldn't tell.

The drive manual references the "Type A" and "Type B" interfaces between the drives and the CNC, but gives no details (that I spotted) about what that means.

Those are Fanuc Alpha drives. They use proprietary communication protocol with both, the controller and with encoders.
Currently there is no interface card that you could use.

The motors are fanuc a06b-0143-b077 #7008
At your opinion what is the best approach?
Sud i use the motors with different drivers (granite devises)
or sud i look for new drivers and motors(Chinese?)

Why not use the existing Fanuc controller?

The reasons are:
1) i don't now if the machine was in working condition
2) the machine have cables cut in 3 places, near the mane electric cabinet, near the cable chain and near the portable electric cabinet
3) i don't now anything about Fanuc controller
4) I don't have post processor for the Fanuc controller
5) I don't have the electric schematic for the machine

If they are 3 phase motors and you do not know how the encoders work, my suggestion is:

Replace the existing encoders with incremental ones; use another servo drive.

I have done this in the past with okuma ones. Never reached the same performance as the original ones, but I got a working machine. More, I got a working machine were I could fix in case of troubles.

This document
github.com/rene-dev/stmbl/blob/master/do...tting%20Started.adoc
Says that the STMBL drive can interface with the Fanuc serial encoders.

There is also a module for the Mesa cards that can read (at least some of) the Fanuc encoders.

Do you know the voltage and power ratings of the motors ?

In the c axis there is a very small maybe 100-200 watt
where sud i look for encoders and drivers
