LinuxCNC Discord? (for chat & support)

This is only about migrating the LinuxCNC forum. Discourse would not be a solution for chat. Other sites like CNC Zone can make their own decisions about moving from antiquated forum software to something more modern.

I went and created a Discord server for LinuxCNC. I'd love to hand over ownership to the mods here.

Oh! I did some searching but didn't find one. I've deleted it.

So, I had a look at it. But i must say I find it difficult to understand what the great benefit of that format should be.
Is it really just that big tape worm of posts that I think it is? Where is the organization into topics? How am I supposed to find out if a certain question has been replied to?
Reminds me of gitter. I posted a question once and never found out if anybody replied to it as it just got carried along with all the seemingly random posts. Do I really have to scroll through pages and pages of stuff to piece together my topic.
Ok, granted I'm over 34, so surely I must be really missing something here.

Discord is about real-time chat.

I'd love it if we moved this forum to Discourse, which is much nicer forum software. More responsive, supports Markdown, smoother UX, etc.
