So there you have it. Doesn't matter where the money comes from. Show me a capitalist that will resist the opportunity to make another buck. Let's face it:
Just because it's "western" owned and financed does not make it any better, because they ALL steal your data. Just read a Microsoft EULA. They basically don't see it as "stealing" because they consider it to be their data in the first place. Yet it's happily used in companies and governments all over. And that's not even "free" software!

The screenshot posted was about Craft, not Discord. Craft is a firm that researches businesses and their financials. Discord is a chat service. Craft is not Discord, so their policy of selling data does not reflect on Discord.

I have joined a german machinst discord. I have logged in a few times but just dont get the appeal. Maybe I am missing some key feature??

Discord---> I would have named it "Disjointed". It seems the same "structure" of chat as you get at the bar of a busy rugby club. 20 different conversations all crossing each other. Might be nice if you are lonely and want a bit of company, but seems useless as a technical support interface, or even to chat about complex long term technical problems (which we create for ourselves through our weird taste in CNC stuff).

Just wanted to thank everyone for making the discord group a civil, fun, judgement-free and helpful space for us to chat about LinuxCNC. We now have 270+ members and are growing daily. Since the link is now buried, here it is: discord.gg/X3zKzhc

Looks like there's a new more active Discord which can be found here: discord.gg/SbskPKPJc6

I am going to delete the one I've been promoting in the next 30 days. Thank you all.
