Thanks Tommylight . I am going through posts.
What you think about retaining Analogue Drives . In your experience will they give trouble later.

If you read that topic you will see that i had trouble with the original drives, they failed one by one so had to change them all.
Pity as the Yaskawa drives are very good and tuning the original drives took 5 minutes total for the two working axis.
New drives took much longer.

These drives are hardly used . Ill take a chance :).
Hawk -30 is a basic machine. The machine don't have an ATC , has manual speed change for spindle..
From my study I got the idea as below..
MESA card with 4 Analogue channels need to be selected.(7i33 ?)
just need ~ 20 I/o for PLC (Do I need additional card for this?).
I noticed you are using lot of cards "7i92, 7i77, 7i74, 7i70, 7i71 and maybe another 7i84 and 7i73 for pendant". Why is that?.
Sorry.. too may questions . I am a mechanical engineer.
If you have a wiring diagram it will be very helpful.

You can use only a 7i92 or 5i25 or 6i25 (same thing different slot or eth, only 1 of them needed) and a 7i77, it has 5 axis analog and a spindle, so basically 6 axis full control with encoder feedback.
Mine had a toolchanger so needed more IO.
Later you can add a 7i73 for pendant OR a 7i84 for more IO as one of them can be wired directly to 7i77.

Thanks Tommylight for the reply. I went through MESA site and came across this
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...83_86&product_id=344
This card 7i97 connects to PC via ethernet and gives analogue and digital I/Os directly, only single card is required.
Is it used by LCNC community?. I see most users prefer combination of 5i25 +7i77. any reason for this.
Regards
Riaz

I believe that the 7i97 is a relatively new offering from Mesa. (less than a year old) You will see a lot more info about the 7i77 because it has been around for years and therefore has many more users. I think I installed my 7i77 more than 8 years ago.

7i97 is even better, but it is still new as Todd mentioned, so i never used it, yet ! :)
Since i still have two 7i77 and a lot of other Mesa boards, it will be some time until i order one of those.
