whb not showing up? was created by Catch22
So when I open up Linuxcnc and go to
Show Hal Configuration, then click on pins, there is no whb there. When I open up the Sim it is in there. Am I missing something. This is to get my Xhc-whb04b-4 working.
It works in the Linuxcnc simulator.

Did you add the lines to your hal file to load the driver, and add it to the real time thread(s)?

I'm pretty sure I did, I followed talla83 video and the simulator worked, but when I tried doing it on the machine it didn't.

Looking through the error log this seems to be the culprit:
CANNOT FIND FILE FOR:xhc-whb04b-6.hal

Is this file in the same folder as your machine config ?

Yes that folder is in with the ini and Hal and custom Hal and a few other files.
And it's named xhc-whb04b-6

The HAL file for the whb has to match the file name in for ini file.

In your ini file.

SHUTDOWN = shutdown.hal

If the file is named in your config directory xhc-whb04b-6.hal you will not get the can not find file error.
If the file is named in your config directoryxhc-whb04b-6 you will get the can not find file error.

Also the name should be a match regarding case as well.
