No I didn't, it won't run unless I delete the HALFILE xhc-whb04b-6.hal
Should I delete that and have Linuxcnc running and run those commands again?

Ok it would appear that the user comp is loading.

Now rename xhc-whb04b-6.hal to MyPendant.hal and change the entry in your /home/mike/linuxcnc/configs/my_LinuxCNC_machine/my_LinuxCNC_machine.ini from xhc-whb04b-6.hal to MyPendant.hal

Reboot and try to start Linuxcnc.
