Up and running linuxcnc in 17 minutes. That's a record for me.
Usually compiling kernels, compiling linuxcnc, this that the other, usually takes hours.

Set these as your repositories in Synaptic:
deb http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ buster master-rtpreempt
deb-src http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ buster master-rtpreempt

I have these issues too. I did report it. I think we should raise a bug on github.
Can you run it in a terminal window for your customer and send stderr to nul?

Why not just use a distro with the same python version as the Buster ISO.
It seems silly to use a distro where you need to hide all terminal error messages.

Treading water pending Debian 12
I have spent to much time on networking, Samba, FTP etc to want to redo it.
I usually load from the command line using linuxcnc -l
Because it always seems to be open with all your updates

Added it to the sources.list file and it worked.
WTF do the guys that don't know this stuff do? It's really stupid the gui wont take the repositories but it worked when I added them manually to the file.
