i still am unable to get a 7i76e in the pnccongif, nor can i get a 7i76_7i77 option i reflashed the 6i25 to 5i25_7i76_7i77.bit .. if i use the 7i76e with eithernet hook up then i shouldn't even need the 6i25, but i would have to be able to get the pnc.config wizard to give me that option. other wise i would have to figure out how to get pnc.config to offer the 7i76_7i77 option, set that up then edit everything in hal. if i understood the code strings better i could just make the hole thing myself, but far to new to this for that.

1. pncconf supports the 7I76E, at least the current version does (in 2.8.2)
2. The 7I76E option in pncconf does not support an added 7I77 so
it probably easiest to create a 7I76/7I77 config for a 5I25 and do the minor
edits in the hal/ini files to change the base FPGA card to a 7I76E

makes sense except i can't get a firmware option of 7i76_7i77. it offers me
7i76x2
7i76x2-with one 7i76
7i77_7i76
7i77x2
7i77x2-with one 7i77
G540x2
prob_rfx2

should i try 7i77_7i76 and try to modify that I also have a 7i64 on the 7i77 that might complicate that although i suppose i can put that onto the 7i76e

You would use the 7I77_7I76

You will probably need to renumber the 7I77/7I76 sserial channels since they
are in card order (the 7I76E will have channels 0 (7I76 field I/O) and 1 (expansion)
and the 7I77 will have channels 2,3,4 (field I/O, analog, and expansion)

ok. i figured out how to pncconfigure a 7i76e and made a configuration so see if it would connect. when i try to open it, it comes up with error
Can't find module 'hm2_eth' in /usr/realtime-3.4-9-rtai-686-pae/modules/linuxcnc

i looked in that location and that file or any file for eth is in there, so any idea where i can down load and install that file?

Im trying to reflash my 7i76e and when i try to
cd to ~/configs/hostmot2/
it comes up with either 'no such file' or 'too many arugments'
i have tried being more and less specific to location and it doesn't help. I can't ever cd to /home/ or any file string between there and the hostmot2
