I have been having some issues with 5i25 and G540. It turns out that timing parameters are too tight in pncconf and with a small increase, everything is smoth, here are the minimun values that works:
So my suggestion is if this can be taken as defaults in pncconf when a 5i25 and G540 combo is selected
Regards
DIRSETUP = 250
DIRHOLD = 250
STEPLEN = 1100
STEPSPACE = 2100
So my suggestion is if this can be taken as defaults in pncconf when a 5i25 and G540 combo is selected
Regards

you can see how I made the 5i25 generate the charge pump for G540 with losts of help from PCW, I guess this will also be a good addition for pncconf

Chris, if you change the G540 timings, I would suggest:
DIRSETUP = 700
DIRHOLD = 700
STEPLEN = 1500
STEPSPACE = 2500
As these are steplen and stepspace values that will not impact the maximum the G540 step rate of 250 KHz, and theres no reason for the setup and hold times to be so small. With these timings, all signals have 500 ns margin from the G540 minimums.
(250 KHz is somewhat unlikely also since this is 7500 RPM!)

I pushed the timing fix to 2.5 so it will wok its way to master.

Hello Chris,
I know you do a lot of work on the pncconf, I was just wondering if there was any work being done on adding the 7i80 to the configurator, or is still too unstable to add to the mainstream of things.
Thanks
Rick

It won't be added to 2.6 series.
I will see about 2.7 though.
Too late for you I suppose

No problem on my end,
I honestly haven't used this utility on a single build yet, they are always off the wall, out in left field builds. But I do have 3 more retrofits lined up now, so I still have a lot of work to do ahead.
Thanks
Rick
