Well if you do sometime, let me know how it went.
I rely on bug reports as I really can't test enough

I have pushed some pncconf work into master, that covers the basic connections for the gs2 vfd.
The HAL file is based on the snippet from the manual.
One thing that is not clear to me is how to scale the command speed from motor RPM to spindle RPM
without using a scale component, do people just adjust the nameplate RPM setting?
There is also work for using a two speed gearbox for an analog controlled spindle.
Using a Gcode to select the range is not covered yet.
If anyone could build a pncconf config to confirm the GS2 VFD HAL file is correct , that would be great.
if anyone could build a config using the two range spindle and let me know if the 'calculate scale' button
helps to figure out how to set everything that would be great too.
any other bugs / comments / testing / patches is always welcome.

My request would be g540 support. I am not sure if it is applicable based on this post:
I appreciate the work that goes into this. I am willing to make a donation to make this happen. A g540 selection in stepconf was the only reason i got linuxcnc to work.
best regards, Rory

Sorry the 7i92 is not supported in pncconf.
I don't have hardware to test with.

The 7I92 configuration would be pretty much a clone of a 5i25 configuration.
(so one option is to use pncconf to make a 5i25/7i77 config and then edit the hal file to
make it suitable for the 7I92, just globally changing "5i25" to 7I92" is 99 % of the changes)
Differences are these:
Card name is 7i92 instead of 5i25
7I92 is an Ethernet card so it needs the hm2_eth driver instead of hm2_pci
the driver needs the board_ip parameter set to the 7I92s IP address
I/O 0..16 are on the 7I92s P2 instead of P3
I/O 17..33 are on P1 instead of P2
(these connector name changes make no difference in the hal file)

Dear PCW,
I am New to This.
I am not able to see that the 7i92 is detected by linuxcnc.
Please, send me any kind of Step by Step Procedure to use this Card.

Dear PCW,
i am in to lot of confusion on Mesaflah and hostmot2, Pncconf..like. Why so, many... why not single graphical interface to do so, only god knows...
i don't know, if at all Mesa selling these cards, they could have developed some kind of graphical interface to get this things done.
when we buy hardware for Mech3, even from china they start work with in an hour,
here in mesa, i have ordered 45 days back. it has came now, and even there is information that the card is presently configured for ????
in linuxCNC there are many Mesa Plugin - go Cards interface has to be updated.
i don't know Why Mesa is Massing up Everything. Directly go to LinuxCNC and select the card and go on.. it should be like that.
This only my Opinion may differ from person to person. but, my exp with low cost Chinese Cards with Mech3 is woks with out Typing single Word. all click away. fantastic..
We also should do something like this for our upcoming new users...

The Mesa cards are general-purpose IO cards. They can be used for many other applications than LinuxCNC. I believe thatLinuxCNC is a minority user of Mesa hardware.
So, the configuration problems are not due to Mesa, who simply provide hardware, but with LinuxCNC. LinuxCNC is an open-source project where things get done for free by people who are feeling helpful and have the time.
In this case the volunteer who has written PNCconf doesn't have a 7i92, so is not in a position to configure PNCconf to support it.
It seems to me that you do have a 7i92, so if you would like to modify PNCconf to support the 7i92, that would be great
