Frage wegen Spindelencoder an 7i76
Kann ich damit auch was anfangen, ich brauche es nur für Gewindedrehen und vielleicht noch für den Vorschub beim Drehen, wäre praktischer als mit mm/min.
Nur ein Indexsignal wird leider nicht reichen.

The 7I76 encoder input needs to be jumpered to match the encoder type

Are the glass scales differential out or single ended?

Output Signal: EIA-422
The glas scales works fine, no problems on 7i85

you can test each input by simply grounding each
encoder+ input (TB3 pins 7,10,13 = A,B,IDX) and
watching them in halshow.

W4, W5, W6 are in the right hand position. Mode is differential.if you jumper the 7I76 for TTL/single ended mode,

To give you a short feedback, I'm giving up on the encoder from the servo because there are simply no signals coming out, it's probably the version that doesn't have these outputs.
I have ordered a cheap encoder with differential outputs like the glass scales have.
Feedback will follow as soon as I have the encoder here.
Thanks again for your support

So, I got myself a normal rotary encoder and connected it to the 7i76. There “Count” only changes between 0 and -1, “B” flashes when I turn the encoder and “A” lights up constantly in the HAL show. “Velocity” and ‘Raw Counts’ do not change at all. If I now switch to the 7i85 (output 02), everything works as it should, “RAW Counts” and “Counts” are counted, a change between “A” and “B”, so everything is as it should be. No idea why this is the case. Now I'm waiting for 2 GT2 pulleys and the timing belt, then I can test the whole thing with the motor to see if it works with the thread.

This might be:
1. Encoder connections wrong.
2. Bad 7I76 encoder input
3. Bad / loose DB25 cable
4 7I92 bad/damaged input
Also which pin does not change? A or B?
earlier post:
When the X-axis moves, the yellow LED at A changes constantly between on and off, B remains on, Count changes between 0 and -1

here “Count” only changes between 0 and -1, “B” flashes when I turn the encoder and “A” lights up constantly in the HAL show

So it can't be the cable or plug.
Possibly the input of the 7i76 is not OK.
