Isn't the US-100 clone the parallel port to USB addapter/cable?
Just unplug that and throw it away and use a regular parallel port cable.
The stepper board should still work with an ordinary parallel port just fine. And the pin out is very standard looking.

Yes, though I wouldn't throw it away, they are quite clever. (And the actual UC-100 is quite expensive)

That is more than a cable. Hang on to it. It actually contains a complete motion controller.

That's interesting. However the way I read it I have to install some "USB" control software on the PC in order to use the USB cable. From the rather involved chinese only instructions it looked like a software controller sort of thing, sort of like those dumb windows only 56k dialup modems from 20 years back.
Anyway I am not using it. My linuxcnc setup runs fine with a "proper" parallel cable and add on parallel card yeah! I have what looks like calibrated movement ie tell it to move 100mm and it seems to move 100mm so I am happy. Right now I am replacing some wiring so its earthed clearly and properly and figuring out the tool zeroing thingy wiring and getting the 0-10v output from the controller to the VFD but I have no manual for that either, LOL. I have asked for it. Also the pump and its radiator fans need to be wired to 12volt and piped.

[Aside: the RAR-compressed manual is 289MB. Wonder what's in it that it's so large.]

Yes, I see now. However I also see that there is no JP-3163B manual, per se, describing its features and usage.
In my earlier research, I concluded that "JP" refers to a company "Ji-Ping" and that the 3163B was one of its products.
Thank you.

I have the machine badged "SXCNC".
I have the JP1 jumper set on the JP-3163B controller board to short 1-2 to "Use Internal 5V" supply and have no other voltage source connected to the "VCC" pin.
Still, voltages I measure on the XXW, YXW, ZXW, and DD pins run 15 to 21V, suggesting they're connected to the 24V internal supply. JT on the other hand measures only slightly less than 5V.
This is the principal reason I'd like to look at a JP-3163B manual. My expectation of what JP1 does isn't matching reality.
