Did you check the last post on the Debian thread?
I use Mint for a single reason, the most important one, IT WORKS ! Always, with everything i have, and i do have plenty (beginning to think i am a very bad hoarder of technology).
And i do understand everything you say, but this is a community of people and there will always be such minor issues, but we have to help as much as we can. And as for communities, i have spent quite some time on the net since ..... over 20 years, and i can say this here is the best by far. Case in point, i was on cncecke.de a lot and almost all users there are great, but there is always one that wants to show off so he found a silly reason ( me writing in English and German everything ) and went off the handle.
Just checked there, my reply to him is not there while everything else is !
Cnczone.com was quite nice, mostly, but i have not been anywhere else for a long time. I mean forums.
There is no place like 127.0.0.1 !

I admit I have failings dealing with peoples. That much so I haven't noticed any difference to my life with the Beverage Sickness shut in.
Mint works and is a great desktop, actually I just performed a separate install on some left over space on the T530 to play around with FPGAs, mainly using the FOSS toolchain for the Lattice ICE devices. That's the topic the my son's touching on at Uni.
