Are you using PWM or the 7I76's analog output?

I am using a 7i98 and a custom daughter card. I had described the problem in the other thread.

What a great tool!!
I'm kinda stuck with the spindle on my machine too. 7i97. I just want one of the analogue outputs configured to output to the spindle.
Any help or direction appreciated

Not directly MesaCT related but its best to use analog outs 4 or 5 for spindle control
because these channels have separate enables

I have 7i95T + 7i78 as I need 7 axis to control (closed loop) + 1 pwm for spindle.
Which firmware is preferred in this case? Should I use the one that configures joint 5 on 7i95T as a pwm output and then use 2 axis on 7i78?

Do you need PWM or analog for the spindle?
If analog then using the 7I78s analog output would be best.
Here is 7I95T firmware for a 7I95T +7I78: (10 stepgens, 7 encoders, 3 sserial channels, analog spindle out on 7I78)

VFD only works with 0-10V so I planned to use PWM signal to voltage converter.
Does 7i78 output 0-10V analog directly?

The 7I78 has a PWM to isolated analog output circuit.
It does require an external 10V source. Normally the VFD
supplies this. (its commonly used for the potentiometer)

A1 goes to AOUT (or spindle out) on Mesa.
0V common goes to spindle-.
