What Upgrade

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Here is what I have that works well with a parallel port.  I don't want to change that.  I sometimes have to reboot once or twice to have it load.  Not a big problem.  Overall I am very happy with it performance.  Just thought I might consider upgrading as most (not all) things improve ovver time.

Here is what I have:Linux Debian 4.19.0-21-rt-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Debian 4.19.249-2 (2022-06-30)

It's an older Dell e521 computer.  Might have to upgrade the computer.  Again, I'm fine with the "No IRQ handler" at start up, then it boots ok. Just wondering if someone who knows more than me would make a suggestion as I don't want to loose what I have.

It's a great  cnc operating system.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Do you have the Mesa card?
The only way to know for sure is to wire it to Mesa and leave it running and using it as you normally would with the machine, so open files, run gcode, etc as this can be done without a machine attached.
If you do not get latency warnings and no dropped link = all is good.
Have a look at some laptops i tested:

This is amazing and exactly what I was looking for. (Thank You!) I'm struggling with how to fix the scale of my stl file. I'm also having trouble finding any documentation for this. Does anybody have a link to documentation or other examples?

M66 keeps waiting

Category: G&M Codes

Hi, I'm having the same error in version 2.9.4 with Debian 12, M66 L3. Q10 doesn't work from the M06 subroutine, it only works from an MDI command. When I run it, the console deactivates, and when I activate the sensor, it reactivates. How can I resolve this?

This might not be the same thing, this sounds more like the iocontrol.0.tool-change to iocontrol.0.tool-changed handshake isn't happening.

Could someone set up a 4 axis + 1 spindle of 24000 rpm with pncconf?
I assembled 2 computers with 2 7i76e motherboard boards and both are experiencing the same issue.
I can program manually with cw cww enable and it works perfectly, but when I want to incorporate a pwm component, it gives me an error.
If I can obtain the .hal and .ini files, I can modify them and proceed with a machine that I need to get working.
thank you!!!!!!

You are right. Problem solved when I configure board and use external 24V voltage for VIN.

Touch off, OK button greyed out

Category: AXIS

The Axis touch-off allows for any valid G-code expression, including the use of parameters. (So you should be able to type [#<_x> / 2] for example, to save typing the current X position)

Given this, "bad number format" is not a bug, but "file not found" is.

FlexGui -Touch off

Category: Flex GUI

It seems i am attracting 'touch off' troubles. Still working on my UI. After run from terminal, homing, loading a g-code file and then press touch off button (touchoff_selected_pb) , linuxcnc shuts down with an error. At least there is some info printed in the terminal. This is from the flex_examples axis:

Warning: Spoiler!

Not come across SaaSS, but will take at look at the link.

Your download links worked for me, many thanks for the pointers there.
The file opens in the Edgecam post editor so I have something to play with.

Can the network configuration affect?

No, the FPGA card need not even be present for pncconf to run

I would try setting the locale to en-US
