No it's not possible to make a copy of controls. What you can do for things like power and E Stop is to have them on the main part of the QMainWindow so it's always visible.

You can see in this sample that the top frame that contains the estop, power, run and quit buttons is always visible no matter what tab you select because they are in the tool bar. Also the DRO and Information box are always visible in this example. It does have duplicate run buttons as it's an example and the upper ones are menu items so they can also be in the tool bar.

It's kind of funny that you're having exactly the same problem as me.
You seem to have almost the same configuration as me and also the same name
And you also seem to be using the M600 routine to probe the TooTall18T.

I can't quite figure it out at the moment, but every now and then I have a file that can be read in without an error message.
The most annoying thing for me with this error message is that nothing is displayed in the visualization and so I have no idea what the machine is doing until it does it.

I'm curious to see if you get any further here.
If I find out anything, I'll post it here.
Greetings Jens

Strange, I have never had that issue. Recently after a long holiday without touching it, I could not get it to move at all and it made awful sounds.
I fixed this by resetting to factory defaults (0x10110) by changing the values in the XML on sucessuve restarts. Now its perfect so I want to work on homing,
The only following error I had on my Mill with ECT86 drives was when I had the accelleration too high and it would do that coming out of homing. I decided this was probably because the accelleration (well decelleration here) was too high and the setting was overcome by inertia. Reducug accelleration in the ini file fixed it.

Should work, but I'll make an image and try and will let you know what works (not).

Anyone figured out how to get Trinamic's TMC5160 drivers working with LinuxCNC?

Category: Driver Boards

One question. 5160 connected to rpi spi for its configuration only. Which will done one startup. So even if its not in real time. Since configuration only needed one time on startup. Does it matter that communication is slow as you said?
I am not a developer so I am asking.

I think most component functions have a number, (or a name if the names option is used)

that is, if I

loadrt and2

The function call for that component would be

and2.0

so

addf and2.0 servo-thread

Probe Basic V.5 - kein Feedregler mehr? Solved

Category: Deutsch

Hi,

CONFIG_FILE = custom_config.yml (evtl. steht da was drin, was Probe Basic nicht mag)
USER_TABS_PATH = user_tabs/
USER_BUTTONS_PATH = user_buttons/

It seems it's only "Spindle Zero" value which is giving me issues now, very strange...

Losing some values after PB restart

The increments didn't bother me, I use all of them. :-)

The issue isn't solved yet unfortunately.

I noticed my .var file did not have the same amount of parameters as the one that came with the upgrade.
So I renamed the fresh one to 'probe_basic.var' and changed the reference in my .INI also to probe_basic.var.
(Before it was named "linuxcnc.var". )
I can see that "Spindle zero" is written to parameter 3010 now, but upon restarting PB, it's 0.0000.

Strange thing is, parameters like the feeds are being stored and loaded correctly, except traverse FR.

Linuxcnc & the Raspberry Pi (4 & 5) Official Images Only!!!

Category: Installing LinuxCNC

"And please no double posting." What do you mean by that?

I use the system with a 7 inch original rpi touch screen display, and I wish to use rdp for easy configuration of the system. For this reason I try to configure rdp server. (the rdp server was all ready in the image, I didn't install it...)
I asked here because I use the linux image from this post. If is not oky please let me know where to move the question.
Tnx.

Tried every net solution for days to install linuxcnc

Category: Installing LinuxCNC

I go to sleep for two hours and this is what i wake up to.... :)
Guys, stop doing this mess, yes even the OP, nothing will work without fixing the stuff on the first reply, and apparently you just ignored that.
Yes it is very easy to install Linux, be it Debian or Mint on any PC, on any hard drive or SSD or NVME or USB
Again, yes it is very easy to install on a USB, it is the same procedure, just takes longer
And yes, it will be very hard or impossible if you do not set the BIOS properly first
Also, yes Linux will run on almost anything and from almost anything.
-
To sum it up:
-fix BIOS
-use the official LinuxCNC ISO or Linux Mint Debian Edition 6
-install to HDD or SSD or NVME or USB, just make sure there are not other drives installed except the one you want the install on
-use the installation defaults
-do not do your partitioning
-do not use sudo or whatever else during install
-do not use other versions of Linux or Debian or whatever
-do not change stuff at random in BIOS
-do not use google or GPT for help, it's a waste of ... life! :) Use their respective forums.
-
To others:
-stop advising people to use "magic" net installs and workarounds, you are making it extremely painful for new and inexperienced members for something that should normally NEVER take more than 10 minutes!!!
10 MINUTES !!!!
Well installing onto USB it takes longer....
