Problem solved.
The original display card is VisionTek Radeon 5450 2GB DDR3 (DVI-I, HDMI, VGA) (fanless) $63, bought in Aug 2023. I used a dedicated Noctua 92mm fan to cool it.
Today I buy a new no brand HD7000 display card (HDMI, VGA) (with fan cooling) $13 to replace the old one, no error message when running LinuxCNC now.

If you are going to do this (I wouldn't) Make sure your divider resistors are rated for the voltage
and the power. This is difficult as 25KV times 5 mA = 125 W! (this is assuming a THCAD2 jumpered for
5V input and an external 5M resistor)

You can get away with a smaller watt rating because of the "peaky" nature of the HF signal
and it's short duration, but I would not skimp on the voltage rating. I would use  (5x) of
something like this as a minimum:

Because the voltage spikes are mainly in the negative lead,, I would put 4 resistors in the negative lead
and 1 in the positive lead. This combination will (with THCAD2 set for 5V) give a full scale voltage of 255V
 

Ok. I put man mesaflash in terminal and it came back with 'no manual entry for mesaflash.
I believe there is a sudo command to ask what the board information is, but I can't remember what it is.

The proper way would be to wire it to the rectifier output, and use 2 of 1.5Mohm resistors on each wire.
To answer your question, yes HF start can kill the THCAD, but... i have a THCAD10 wired through 2 of 1Mohm resistors at the plasma plugs, plasma is China made Kzubr 60A, it is HF start, it is in use for over 6 months i think, it did not die, yet.
Do this at your own risk, it is not recommended but it works.
Use 2 resistors, 1 on each wire, this is very important, short wires from plasma to resistors, no more than 20-30cm, keep those wires and resistors at least 10cm appart or mount the THCAD close to the source.
And, torch is not positive on plasma, it is negative, the clamp is positive.

Update: not working after installing the linuxcnc_2.9.2-amd64.hybrid iso
No movement of axis, but i have tried it only with stepconf and the correct partport. (i hear the relay switch so its the correct parport adres)
Latency very high, about 50000 compared to 6000 with the wheezy version.
Not sure what i can try to fix it if even possible.
As i wrote already, i wouldnt care about wheezy, its just that working with onedrive was really nice, instead of using the usb stick. I would even be happy with onedrive through webbrowser, but it also doesnt work because firefox is not anymore supported.

One more thing: The system with Debian 12 seems to be somehow low, also browser is extremly slow

Save, do an update, see if it throws any error.

There is 2.9.3 now.

The 7i76E has been phased out. The 7i76EU is the replacement . Yes it is currently out of stock. However, I am sure
they will be back in stock soon. The first batches of them were available back in October and they seem to have

Update: installed wheezy iso on a 60 GB SSD with Phenom X6 1055t cpu (only one RAM block used of 8gb pair, because the other one of the pair seem to be broken) and updated linuxcnc from 2.7 to 2.8.4 as it was originally with the original config - just changed to the correct partport addresses
Everything seem to work perfectly, but i havent started a program yet, just jogged.
I had to insert a old vga because that motherboard has no internal vga, and when i do glxgears it shows FPS between 4000.00 and 2500, so extremly high and then the latency jumps from about 5000-6000 to about 30.000, but only if glxgears is running.

Due to the fact that i want to use onedrive and not running around with a USB stick, i will install again the Linux 2.9.2 installer iso with Debian 12 and hope it will work now, if not then i have no other option but to use Wheezy for now.

I just bought a THCAD2 board.
As the manual says i have to connect a 2.9M resistor in series between INPUT+ and thorch. That's clear.
I have a parkside ppsk 40 a1 plasma cutter.

My question is where do I have to connect the Analog IN terminals, is it OK to connect to the cutter's output(torch and clamp terminals) or I have to search on the PCB for the rectifiers and solder wire after them?
I'm asking that becouse the cutter have HF ignition and i don't know does the board survive 25kV ignition voltage(I read that value somewhere on the forum).

i have one 7i76e in my stock, but will the 7i76e come back again? if so i can give my card to a friend. but i'll be able to buy another later to have one as a spare again

As G38.n returns results in current coordinate system, how to get absolute G53 values.

This calculates G53 distance to toolseter. Can be used to touch off spindle or tool

This shouln't change much, if there is a good repetition with homing Z. So this 2 results can be set as ini parameter, or placed in the probing routine.

i have a similar question, as above. I want to connect a THCAD to my 7i92.
On the 7i92 i run 2 breakoutboards (see below) however i can't figure out what pins  i need to connect the thcad to.
How can i find where the encoder pins are connected to?

the stepgen from rio also has a duty cycle of 50%,
try measuring the signal at the FPGA pin

I just installed a new 2.9,2 version. Because my internet wasn't working while I installed it. I needed to change a repository from cdrom to  deb.debian.org/debian/. Now my List looks like this. Is it correct?
