Looks like only the 3.3V regulator is damaged.

Error when trying to open Gmoccapy confiuration.

Category: Gmoccapy

I have now parenthesized print. in stdglue.py and that error has disappeared from the log.

The python error now showing looks like a similar error regarding exception. I have added parentheses to the except lines but must still have the syntax wrong as the same error persists.

I have attached the error log and the stdglue.py file and would be most grateful for some more help!

Using SigGen would probably work fine, but i have yet to use it, but do have a look here:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.9/html/man/man9/siggen.9.html
it will do the same time on and off, so might not be exactly what you want, ex. at 0.5Hz it will do 1sec on and 1sec off.
There are other ways also, so we need to know if you do need separate times for on and off.

I just started the mist coolant system today and it works great.
I've been looking around the forum for the possibility of having the coolant turn on and off every X seconds.
The information I've found is pretty confusing for me.... I'd really appreciate your help once again.
I hope I'm not too annoying asking about every thing I come across.

Novakon Mill Conversion - Getting Started

Category: CNC Machines

The drives are there and should be working.

I had this whole mill making chips well for a few years with a parallel port and 2.7 i think. A power surge took out the VFD for the spindle. There was some glitch with linux that the screensaver wouldn't wake up so you'd have to reboot. I had that one bypassed, but it resurfaced and I couldn't remember how to fix it. I made a bad vfd buy on ebay and later a couple of stepper drives went bad at some point. Then it sat for a while. I'm trying to get it running again now.

It has some new to me used gecko 201's on all 3 axes. Its got an offbrand new vfd that works in manual mode at least on the spindle. and a new (used) PC with 2.9 on it.

I checked for movement on all three connected axes. Seems to have different holding torque on different axes but no movement whatsoever.

solved: TB6 Inputs missing in MESA 7i95T

Category: Driver Boards

The 7I95 isolated inputs are "inmux" pins

When LinuxCNC is running:

halcmd show pin *inmux*

Fanuc Serial Pulse Coders - Red cap servos, mesa 7i76e, how to?

Category: Driver Boards

Actually its easier to test this on a 7I97/7I97T

Do you have a 7I97 or 7I97T?

No short at the 3.3V rail with removed voltage regulators.

Have to test a little bit more. But so far it looks good.

solved: TB6 Inputs missing in MESA 7i95T

Category: Driver Boards

Hi,I have refurbished an older ISEL Gantry CNC with a MESA 7i95T. (Only because 7i76ed was Out of stock..)All is working fine, exept one little detail:I can not find any of the Inputs in the hal, that are connected to TB6.
I have flashed the 1_pktv2 Firmware, to use RS485/Modbus with my frequency converter for the spindle. When I check the board with halrun, everything works fine. Exept, that I do not have any Inputs at TB6 listed.
The LEDs light up. So physically everything should be fine.

Any Idea where I would find them? Is there anything else that needs to be configured?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers

The direction signals are not really significant as they
may toggle once at the end of motion. I would try with
actual connected hardware.

It does sound like something on the mill is causing major EMI of perhaps ESD

Ethernet is transformer isolated and the 7I96S has ESD protection on the
7I96S side of the transformer so should be fairly well protected from surges.

Large ESD (static) discharges can cause damage however. Protection from
static damage is improved if the 7I96S frame ground pin is connected to earth
ground.

Spindeldrehzahl durch ändern der PWM Frequenz steuern

Category: Deutsch

rcpwmgen kann variable pwm Frequenz:
www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/man/man9/hostmot2.9.html#rcpwmgen.

Oder stepgen mit step_type 2. Damit bekommst du ein 50% Rechtecksignal

Ok, this is getting weird ... Yesterday i mounted the mesa card from the lathe into the mill, all worked fine... made parts for like 3+ hours .. Today i power up the mill again and the second mesa card network is also no longer working :( :( I dont understand, there was zero change to the electronics, since decenmber last year or sometime around.. (added 3d-probe)
The only power coming to the mesa card is 5v from a step down converter (24v->5v) which goes into the vc+/gnd and +5 to the input common.. all outputs go to a relay board. China spindle to pwm 0-10v . Xyz-axis Stepper drivers are on a seperate 48v psu, A-axis Stepper is on the 24v psu

This setup was working for ~1 year... Is there any chance some voltage spike (iam no electronics guy ;) ) could kill only the ethernet ?

I got the charge pump working. I'm still having trouble with the axes.  The led on each of the direction pins on the C11G board lights momentarily when I let off of the jog button. It is brighter in negative than positive for some reason. Pins 1, 14, 16 and 17 are all on constant with the charge pump. (Which I think is fine. nothing connected to those terminals)
I used pncconf wizard to generate the files. The only thing I did to them was comment out lines 22 and 23 to make it not crash. I tried to match up all of the parameters from the previous ini and hal file in the wizard.

Thanks again!
