Could also be an almost dead short on the 3.3V rail.
If you have a lab supply you could set it to 3.3V,connect
it to the 3.3V rail and ramp up the current to see what
part(s) get(s)s hot.

LinuxCNC-RIO - RealtimeIO for LinuxCNC based on FPGA (ICE40 / ECP5)

Category: Computers and Hardware

I am trying to get Classicladder to work. When I start the machine, I get the following error. I can confirm that Classic Ladder on the same PC in my old LinuxCnc configuration (parallel port instead of FPGA) works. I even tried to copy all the classicladder lines from the parallel port .hal file, but still get the same error.

Shared memory conflict or RT component not loaded!

Ok. To me it looks like that the voltage regulators are fried. Maybe an overvoltage damage.

Z axis goes in the wrong direction, so after home-all

Category: StepConf Wizard

I did as you wrote, however I needed to change two more things:

Now is ‘Home all’ works as it should.
Do you usually change directly in the INI file or is the GUI wizard the best way?
THANKS for all the help.

I dont know. I bought it used.

U6 aprox. 1,23V
U10 aprox. 0,60V

Supply each 4,87V

3,3 V header also 0,6V.

So yes. Looks like a short in any chip.

[SOLVED] Rigid tapping problem - tristate_bit and index-enable?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I recall you (i think it was you) having issues with carousel component and/or orient, not sure exactly, so if this is the same thing here it would be nice to also update that topic, if not = i will retreat in my comfy chair and continue reading/watching.

I just added this:

(debug,Probing result: #<_current_tool>)

O120 IF [ #5400 EQ 99 ]
G53 G1 F[#<_TravelFeed>] Z[#<_TravelZ>] ; Move Z0 for traveling
G53 G0 X[#<_ProbeStandOffX>] Y[#<_ProbeStandOffY>] ; Move to probe stand-off position
ELSE
G53 G1 F[#<_TravelFeed>] Z[#<_TravelZ>]
G53 G1 F[#<_TravelFeed>] X[#<_ToolChangeX>] Y[#<_ToolChangeY>] ( Moves to tool setter for manual tool change )
O120 ENDIF

The message result was Probing result: 0.000000

I'm beginning to think, either I don't have access to the tool when entering M6 T(tool number), or there is a different way to do this.

[SOLVED] Rigid tapping problem - tristate_bit and index-enable?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

@Tommy,

This is the same mill I've been trying to sort out ever since I started fiddling with LCNC.  Like 4 years since it's worked properly.

I had a minor ATC crash late summer 2023 as I was about finished with the rebuild due to some issues with carousel.comp and my config.  And before I could get back in to troubleshooting the mill, I got a long-term, complicated paying project that took priority until we delivered the machines last May.

And the CNC lathe I'm building has been waiting on some parts to be machined by a friend since May 2023.  Those were mostly done as of a week or two ago.

So priority 1 is finish the mill.  And then finish the lathe.

Actually, I just tried adding this and it worked:

(debug,Probing result: #5061, #5062, #5063, #5400)

Now I know why the top section isn't working:

Proving result: -1.28423, 1.042565, -54.0855234, 0.0000000

So, #5400 isn't passing what is in linuxcnc.var file #5400

Great...

If you don't get a power LED at 5V, that's not a good sign
as it may indicate a 3.3V power issue (bad chip?)
