Next I want to add ohmic sensing. With a Thad.

I have downloaded the Firmware files from mesa. There are many files in the hostmot2 folder but have no idea which file I need to flash unto the 7i76E mesa board. What is the file name?

other question is about the serial resistor between positive and Thcad recommended is 390k but in one of the threads 25k is recommended can I freely experiment with resistors? Or does it need a high value to protect the Thcad?

I'd suggest starting with the documentation.
linuxcnc.org/docs/stable/html/

Specifically, starting with the "General User Information" selections "Linuxcnc User Introduction" and "Important User Concepts".
Then for more details looking into "Customization and Development" sections "Developer Information" and "User Interface Programming".

PS:  Depending on what your goals are, you may find that there might not need to be many if any changes required.

For servos you will have to "tune" them. I have a guide for that here .
Scale is the the ratio between the servo and the axis moving one user unit.
Min and Max limit is how far the axis can move.
Max velocity is how fast your axis can move.

Arcade Controller Zero Delay USB as panel inputs

Category: Basic Configuration

Hello Mates,

Im quite new with LCNC, forgive me if this topic is repeated.

I was watching this video on utube about classicLadder, using a game pad as Jog Pendant and got me thinking if would be possible to use those cheap "zero delay usb arcade controllers" as panel input, I believe it IDs as a gamepad on USB, right?

Anyone had experience?

Help to ID and find manuals for this Gould Gettys Analog Servo

Category: CNC Machines

It is completely normal for an analog velocity mode servo to drift when the position loop is not being closed. Yes you must have some form of position feedback to the control system commanding the servo. Usually that would be an encoder connected to Linuxcnc with a PID loop controlling the velocity command to the servo. Normally the servo should be disabled unless Linuxcnc is in control of if and sending commands to correct for any drift. (In other words that enable signal you have jumpered on the drive's input pannel needs to be connected to a digital output from Linuxcnc.) That will stop the drive from drifting when Linuxcnc is not enabled (once you've tuned the position loop in Linuxcnc.)

Help to ID and find manuals for this Gould Gettys Analog Servo

Category: CNC Machines

Hello Mates,

I'm in the process of retrofitting this INDUMA Knee Milling Machine from NUM750 to linux CNC, right now the machine is almost running.

It happens that I have no data at all on the servo drives. All I know they're from Gould Gettys. The Y axis has some drift I'd like to adjust, but I do not know which pot adjusts it.

Googling the driver look similar to the A121 N360 from Gettys.

Another doubt on analog servos: they tend to drift and slow move, even with 0V voltage reference. What is the best strategy to hold axis in position? Internal PID corrections or to disable the servo output?

Greetings from Brazil!

Would it be possible for qt5_graphics.py to use QOpenGLWidget instead of QGLWidget? It solves a weird issue with opacity for me.

Yes, I saw that it could be disabled. Unfortunately I need to use it at least during commissioning because the drives I have can only communicate with the drive commissioning utility with EoE...otherwise CoE has to be disabled and it's like the chicken before the egg problem.
