Gmoccapy SCARA EtherCAT drive - joint error

Category: Gmoccapy

Hi,

I'm trying to get my Scara to work with Ethercat too. However, so far in 3 months the only progress has been in finding the slave on the Raspberry Pi4 terminal.

How do I configure the LinuxCNC software from scratch so that the Scara robot can run with Ethercat? Could you give me some guidance?

Hi, I'm also doing one with ethercat motors. I'm having a lot of trouble. I recently managed to communicate in ethercat and now I'm having trouble connecting ethercat instead of pulse in scara. Does anyone have any other links or manuals?

Yes, a good default P term for the stepgen  is 1/servo-period
so 1000 for a 1 mS servo period.

The physical meaning of a 1/servo-period P term is that any
measured position deviation is corrected by the next servo period

A P term higher than 1/servo-period will result in correction overshoots

A P term higher than 2/servo-period will result in oscillations.

Having a 0 P term will eventually cause following errors as the stepgen position
drifts due to small differences in the hardware and LinuxCNC clocks.

Depends on servo period, for 1 million it is 1000, for 2 million it is 500, and so on.

I used the template from PnCconf for 7i96 and modify to fit 7i95
Those number was from that config
My host computer is a Rpi4 so the servo period is higher
The axis are driven by Yaskawa sigma 5 servo motors
What should the P value be for servo system?

Configuration for Lathe Tool on 7i95t boards

Category: AXIS

Does the spindle encoder have single ended or differential wiring?
(and is the 7I95t spindle encoder input jumpered to match)

What is the maximum spindle RPM?

Do you get a precise 1.0000 increase in the spindle position for each forward turn of the spindle?
(watch spindle-revs)

Did you verify index operation:

watch spindle-index-enable then
sets spindle-index-enable 1
turn spindle slowly by hand
at the index position (and nowhere else)
spindle-index-enable should go false again

That's Core 2 Duo/Quad era hardware.

Unfortunately the built in graphics in those chipsets don't support the required pixel shader version. So a separate graphics card needs to be installed.

I found that out myself last winter while CNC converting my mill...

looking to buy a new custom built pc, anyone experience with the shop?

Category: Computers and Hardware

Hello! I’m looking into getting a new PC and came across a custom builder called Fenn Systems (they're from Belgium). The builds look great and the reviews are always good, but I’m wondering if anyone here has ordered a build from Fenn before, and specifically has experience with their shipping and service? Thanks for the help!

So the integrated graphics arent good enough?

It depends on which integrated graphics you have, they come in many different varieties.
