Mesa Config Tool 7i96s MPG Firmware Flash Error

Category: Configuration Tools

I see the exact same issue with 7I97T+7I76: I've flashed and verified the firmware using mesaflash, and I also copied those firmware files to local/lib/libmesact .

When I use MesaCT and select the firmware and click "VERIFY" I receive a similar message to the one the OP posted.

Skylor

That error message is what mesaflash returns, mesact just prints the result of the command.

7i76e step dir signal missing for stepgen type 0

Category: Driver Boards

It probably means that you have the step time too short for
the drive to recognize the step pulses (type 2 is quadrature
so has square wave signals that are quite wide at slow speeds)

If you are having trouble with the library you require why are you considering Lmde6 ?

I seemed to have borked my GTK/Glade installation

Category: GladeVCP

In the ui file it says:
interface-requires gladevcp 0.0
requires lib="gtk+" version="2.24"

Whereas the current version of the lathemacros has

<requires lib="gtk+" version="3.4"/>
<requires lib="gladevcp" version="0.0"/>

Do any of the sample gladevcp configs work?

It might help to open your .ui file in the latest glade and then re-save it.

Hi Tommy
I have last question
First time i use stepgen from 7i96s and use encoder feedback from encoder motor 2,500 ppr
my ball screw is pitch 5mm
encoder is differential  = 2500*4 = 10000 /rev
1mm = 10000/5 = 2000 encoder scale
ENCODER_SCALE = 2000

Now  i use glass scale is "single ended" right ?
my scale resolution is 5micron   then 1mm = 1000/5 = 200 ppr

I have question...
How Multiplier for of ppr Glass scale(200ppr / mm.)   *2 or *4  or *1   ENCODER_SCALE = ??
because it's "single ended" I don't know *1 *2 or *4

Thank you,
Asis

7i76e step dir signal missing for stepgen type 0

Category: Driver Boards

Hello everyone, I'm trying to configure linuxcnc 2.10 and mese 7i76e and I don't have a step/dir signal at all, but when I switch stepgen to type 2, there is a signal, but it's probably not correct because the machine loses steps.

What does CMM machines use in software

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

For any Machine tool or CMM the underlying motion control part is the same.
But the user program is in a different format for machining or measuring applications
LinuxCNC uses the G-code standard interpreter meant for machining applications.
CMM uses the DMIS standard interpreter which is meant for measuring application - DMIS is a method to capture and record the required data points
Yes It is possible to create/add measuring cycle with G-Code by modifying the Linuxcnc interpreter but user program will not be a standard DMIS program

LMDE6 or Mint 22 ??

Category: Installing LinuxCNC

For first ... sorry to all Debian SO developer .... but I'm not debian SO lover .... Debian12 is really good instead what it was in 2010 .... but I never got used to debian ....

As usual when use Debian I have a lot of problem with library and so .... I admit normally work intensely with other app than Lcnc ... so need some library that is uncommon for debian ... so need install old library that can generate some problem in the system ...

Using LMDE6 (or debian 12) is good enought if you need to build a mill or late or some other machinery .... if need to make other in addiction .... you need use Debian and know it very well from long time .... that is not my case .... so question here is still better LMDE6 versus Mint 22??

Is easy isntall Lcnc on Mint22 + ethercat? We can have good result about latency and ethercat comunication error if we use Mint 22? What kernel number is better to use?

any opinion is appreciated .... so can evaluate if study a lot for learn myself on mint6/debian12 or can freely go to more confortable (for me) Min22

regards
