Hello Sir

Delta B3L servo drive does not have pulse speed mode

How do you use the speed mode? Do you need to convert the pulse to 10v analog speed mode first?

NotHalt mit GUI und ext. Taster (AXIS/Qtvcp)

Category: Deutsch

Hallo zusammen!

Soweit so schön.

net estop-ext <=  hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.input-10-not #Pin 11, dort kommt das ON Signal vom PNOZ an
# und wg der loop mit NC Kontakten muss das Signal invertiert sein.
net estop <= iocontrol.0.user-enable-out # GUI Signale
net estop => iocontrol.0.emc-enable-in

Arno

LS iX7 Series Drives - Can these be added to the device list?

Category: EtherCAT

I am a little confused on how to get say an IO module working. Most everything I see details the servo side of things. Also, if using Classic Ladder how to draw in the addresses?

At the end of the day, i think that it is time to start coming out of the stone age using step and direction and parallel port emulation. While far less expensive, it uses way too many BoB's and leaves way too many variables that make troubleshooting and long term support too open ended.

While I am no expert at LCNC, I am a 30 year cnc service and applications engineer with 30+ years on Fanuc as an integrator, as well as Seimens/Heidenhain. The primary focus is always on reliability with maximum cost efficiency. But, with all truly capable cnc controls to get that level of determinism you have pay more than a couple hundred bucks.

I develop industrial solutions and tend to never seek hobby level solutions. Otherwise you end up with something along the lines of Mach4 which has zero standardization and zero ability to have consistent support.

All that said, I would like to find a way to develop a team outside the normal channels to further advance the LCNC system to a more streamlined and almost canned version that allows for integrators to setup a system without weeks of tweaking around the endless versions of this and that. I suppose my idea is to create a standard fully developed LCNC system that provides the specific hardware interfaces and drivers. More or less along the same lines as Fanuc and the rest of the commercial grade products. LCNC is mature enough to handle this. At least from my perspective.

I started down the rabbit hole a year or so ago and gave up because the zero to hero factor is not practical based on the hundreds of iterations on the web. Sure customization is cool, but if as an integrator I install the system in a custom manner my client will only be able to use 1 source for support. That fails the smell test. I suspect that is the reason LCNC has never made it past the 98% hobby level system.

Thanks for the info and I look forward to chatting more. And listening to your humble advice in regards to my above statements. I think ProbeBasic was a solid start down the path of standards on the GUI side. Now a standard for a hardware setup needs to be created. Maybe even tie them together. Who knows...?

I would disable turbo-boost in the BIOS as anything that changes the CPU clock
can cause major latencies.

The interfaces file is an alternate way to setup a network connection.
to use it, you must add the required lines to the interfaces file, something like:

       auto enp1s0
       iface enp1s0 inet static
           address 192.168.1.120/24
           hardware-irq-coalesce-rx-usecs 0

The last line only makes sense if you have a Intel Ethernet chip

One way to check for this is:

dmesg | grep -i eth

(you may need sudo dmesg | grep -i eth on some systems

or

 lspci | grep -i eth

Also check that you have ethtool installed with:

man ethtool

or the " hardware-irq-coalesce-rx-usecs 0" line will not do anything

AXIS and keyboard

Category: AXIS

Hello,
AXIS has a selection box with jog increments (1, 0.1, 0.01 mm). But to select a certain value, you need the mouse.
I want to link a key on the keyboard to a value. For example, I press "Key-A" and the 0.1 mm selection is made. It's a bit like a shortcut.
I found a command to change the speed:

root_window.bind('<Key-1>',lambda event: set_feedrate(10))

This works and is exactly what I want.
Now the problem is finding the correct routine to call, set_feedrate() is for ffeed rate ... but what's the name for jog increment ?
I guess it's something like jog_increment()?
Subsidiary question: where can I find a list of functions of this type that can be called from a script?
Thanks,
Denis

@aciera and @cakeslob.
It not intended to trouble anyone. Sorry if I have done unintentionally.

@cakeslob
I had problem in proper LinuxCNC configuration for working setup. This thread was created to get help from experts regarding LinuxCNC configurations. Regarding problems related to remora i always ask in relevant thread. Thats why I didn't mentioned about MPG thing.

@aciera
I have created this thread to get help from experts. Thats why i have included all my configuration files. So that I can keep it up with all configuration problems. Anyone using same setup can get help including all required configuration files at one place.

its safe to load the bitfile into the fallback location then
load it with  --reload --fallback

If the new bitfile has an issue, a power cycle will recover.

SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print'. Did you mean print(event.message_type,event.data)?

This seems to indicate that you are trying to use the Python2 version of the macros with a Linux version that has Python3.

Can you try the Py3 / GTK3 version? I know you said you have tried that, but perhaps the problems there are more easily solved.

Get the files from here to be sure it's the latest:

Bitfile for 7c80

I created the bitfile.
I thought I would be safe to copy it to the fallback and reload the fallback and in case it does not work I
could safely reboot the "normal" memory and no harm would be done to the card.
But as you told me if I did chose the wrong project I could brick the card and because the card is not the cheapest,
may I kindly ask you if it would be possible for you to check the bitfile for the 7c80 spi connected to rpi4?
I tared it for uploading...

PNCconf 7i92H and 7i76

Category: PnCConf Wizard

Dear Gentlemen`s, I can't get rid of the feeling that I'm not getting anywhere, partly because my main questions have not yet been answered for my logical approach.

I'll try again ... and it's about the current wiring to the contacts of the 7i76 and the question are these correct or not correct - can I assign them in PncConf with the features in the pull-down menu or NOT?

I would like to describe the initial situation once again.
Several voltage safety circuits are installed in the control cabinet of my CNC machine.
One of them is the 48V voltage for the JMC servos.
In order for me to be able to comply with your recommendations or answers, I need to bridge this voltage circuit so that the axes can be moved or referenced. I am of the opinion that the bridging must be reversed in order to be able to operate the machine in the same way as for normal use.

So my logical consideration:
1) Open LinuxCNC machine
2) Click on the emergency stop button with the mouse
3) Click on the Machine on button with the mouse to display
4) the display changes to "Reference run of all axes"
5) Use the mouse to click on the "Homing all axes" button
6) the display changes from 0, 1, 2 and 3, to X, Y and Z
7) Click on "Homing all axes" again
8) the axes Z, X and then Y start referencing
9) the machine is positioned in X, Y and Z on the PNP sensor contacts

to point ...:
3) when I click the button, the voltage circuit must be opened so that the servos receive voltage.
Question: Which contact on the 7i76 must be assigned and which feature in PncConf must I assign from the pull-down menu?

4) Is that ok so far?

5) Is that ok so far?

6) there seems to be a problem, see two videos
to the configuration (HAL/INI) that I uploaded here before

to the absolute basic configuration
7) This is not possible with the first configuration
www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/citgdxvitry4sp15h...own&st=jg8yglud&dl=0

8) this is only possible with the second absolute base configuration
www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/0jb75bmlu1vbu62rs...ars&st=2j6jswu6&dl=0

9) this is not even possible with the second absolute base configuration because the settings with PncConf are not yet complete or are incorrect

The bridging must first be cancelled so that I can switch on the machine via the "Machine on/off" button and then carry out the referencing.
For an overview, here is the schematic contact assignment of the 7i76.

Here are my basic questions that I would have liked to have answered first.

1) Are the contacts assigned correctly?
2) If so, which pull-down menu features do I have to assign to the contacts in PncConf?

Hello,
I am now trying to get LinuxCNC to run stably on my fourth computer. It didn't work at all with the first two. The third and weakest one ran reasonably well but that was only a loaner.
The new one is now a Dell OptiPlex 3050 SFF with an i7. The histogram looks quite good +-30. Unfortunately, I'm having problems with the max ping times again (see attachment).

I have filmed the BIOS and network settings and you can see them here:

Are they OK or do I need to change something there?
PCW had written the following on page 1:
"If your PC has an Intel Ethernet chip make sure you disable IRQ coalescing
(man hm2_eth)"
However, my network card (enp1s0) is not listed in the networks file (see attachment). Where should I insert the entry described in man hm2_eth?
How can I determine whether the computer uses an Intel Ethernet chi at all?

Are there any other possibilities for the origin of the high ping times?
Could it also be due to the MESA card?
Best regards
